Check dates. Five months ago my dealer ordered 4 B stones and they are ancient . We sent them back and got newer ones.

Did you hand out free sunglasses or just burn out the retinas of the unsuspecting folks who cast an eye upon your unpainted coke can? The shine you have on that car is over the top.

I know. Now that I have the car polished to a mirror finish, it's become a game to see how much more shine I can get.

Hey Sinovac, sorry we missed each other at C&C this morning I brought the Mclaren SLR instead of the GT :-(

I scoured the lot twice looking for a GT, I didn't see any. I did see a nice Cobra:lol

You bum. I guess you didn't get my PM. Next time I want a ride in the SLR. If Dave would sell the Ford GT shirts to the rest of us schmucks, we would be able the identify each other. I think we need a secret handshake or greeting.

Are they just out of stock pending another production run? I've seen tires go out of stock for brief periods and then come back. They don't want inventory to build up too much less they get dated

I should receive my 2 rears from Performance Plus on Thursday. Should have held back a few days to see other responses. Could have saved a few dollars.

I assume I should keep them in their boxes, and in a closet that does not get too hot. Where is the build date on the tire, and what should be considered too old ?

Last four digits of the DOT code. Example: 1612 = 16th week of 2012. Too old? I'm sure you'll get a lot of opinions. With these odd sized tires that are not made continuously, but rather in batches periodically as supply dwindles, I'm ok if they are less than two years old. Others may reject them at that age. In my limited experience (two sets of rears), the sale priced tires were older, but still acceptable to me.

I was formally of the opinion that 30 years was too old, but now that I am in my mid 40s, the 40-50 year old range is just fine.

The tires arrived today, both with 0813 date codes. I am surprised to see them manufactured so recently.

Got mine yesterday as well. They are also 0813 date codes. Glad old tires won't be an issue.

Gentlemen,

Onlinetires.com first confirmed my order, then two days later sent me a note saying they could not get them. Rats.

Chip I thought you are running Hoosiers.

Dear Tony, that's exactly the same precise answer given to me by my Ferrari dealer, bought there two F 355 GTB's, a 575 M F1, two F 430 GTB's, the Enzo's tyres are only produced in small numbers, as the Ferrari Guys originally had a contract of exclusivity, nobody want's to buy old, long stored tyres for the second last super car the italians made.
I personally have only 2 set's of rear ones in stock and one set of front ones, as i "consume" usually two set's of rear ones while i still drive on the front ones, but as i mentioned here as well in other treads, i never made more then 3600 mls on a rear set of GY, or Bridgestone tyres on my GT!

So, nobody has to worry, maybe only for the dimensions we use on the front wheels, as they are not used on the Enzo !!

Since they appear to have been discontinued, you are not likely to get newer ones. Your tires are late 2010. I really would not worry about it.

Thanks Sinovac, I think I will keep them, since there are harder to find.

Is there any other tire besides the oem Goodyears that fit our rims?

Hoosier slicks and the Bridgestones discussed in this thread. Well...other tires will "fit," but at significantly different diameters.
