I raced a ZO6 in one of my GTRs. The GTR left it at the light like it was standing still. I do like z06 corvettes. A little modding and they can be very fun!
If Nissan could strip this car with no leather, electrics, base wheels, Tremec 6spd etc. for $45k, and call it the 240Z, it would put Vette out of business

My point was the ZO6 cost less than today's GT-R, and less than 1/2 what the FGT did (sticker to sticker), and still had(has?) about the same perf. figs. as a stock FGT.
Regardless, I think the ZO6 will have to be "upgraded" a bit in the perf dept now that the GT-R is here. If I remember right, the GT-R does 0-60 in about 3.3??? ... the ZO6 in about 3.7???
Current loaded Z06 stickers for same as current GT-R. A completely loaded 3LZ z06 with nav and chrome wheels has a mid $80k sticker.
What is OVE ?
I remember GTs bringing $250k+. Now, you can get a nice one $140k to $180k all day. No one is saying the GTR is gonna be a rare collectable, but Being as I have had several new GTRs and 100's of GTs, they are both remarkable cars. The fact that Nissan made a car with the performance a GTR produces for the MSRP of HALF a GT says alot. Im not trading my GT for a GTR, nor would I a GTR for a GT. They are totally different cars. I love them both! :thumbsup
(ok, maybe I would trade a GTR for a GT, but who wouldnt?)
Oh, and any GTR you know of NEW for under $70k, I would like to be pointed in that dirrection as I could use it!
6 months ago the stink cost $100K plus. Now they can be had under $70K, new.
Not a sign of a legend by any measure. Performance aside, I think it was, is and will always be ugly - just my opinion.
On OVE..
JN1AR54F29M251150 traded in at a KIA dealership in CO for $74K
and
JN1AR54F69M250275 at another dealer in CA for $73K
Work your magic Shelby, I'll bet they could be both bought for under $70K. If you want, I'll go inspect the CA one for you, just ask....
I'm curious which KIA model the GTR was traded in for......
Thanks for the info, but those prices are NOT under $70k and not new. Seems as though used ones are trading at and around MSRP since most the 09 cars had an MSRP of $73k to $75k. Im suprised they have held this well....
Short gearing, sticky tires, all wheel drive and quick computerized dual clutch shifting, makes the GT-R very quick out of the box for its HP/Weight ratio. At higher speeds where traction isn't limiting factor and shift times don't matter as much, then it is mainly HP/Aero Drag numbers, this is where the GT-R doesn't shine so brightly.
One could make a valid case that the GT-R has more usable performance in the range of normal street driving where one rarely goes over 100 mph. Of course that is if you can stand the looks of it.
