Very little interest in Foreign metal. That's me, build date for my GT500 is 09-21 we'll see what happens.

Some of us are just not Nissan People

I remember the day when I would have KILLED for a 1958 Impala!!!!!

'Local Chevy dealer had a "used" white over blue on the showroom floor with a dealer installed 4-spd in it (MUCHO rare then) somewhere about mid year..............I spend H-O-U-R-S in that showroom oogling that thing!

It seems like fame is really fleeting, at cars and coffee today GTR's and even the ZR-1's seemed to be just passed by. The GT's still seem to gather a little crowd all morning long.

At car show today. A Fairly big one and a ZR1 and a GTR were both there. Got little attention. A lone FGT parked off to the side not even in the show got way more attention and was surrounded by gawkers.

My Carrera is a flat 6. There are a number of true performance cars with 6 bangers.

One historical racing icon with a 6 cyl. was the Maser Birdcage Tipo driven by Carroll Shelby back in the 1950's. None of us would kick that one out of bed.

Correction: The Maserati Tipo 61 (& Tipo 60) such as the ones driven by Carroll Shelby were in-line 4 cylinder engines banked at about 45°.

Yes. Lest we forget about the standing mile Supra's, 240+. Pretty amazing to get that kind of power out of 3 liters.

I Could've Had A V8!

This is just my opinion but a true Supercar has more than 6 cylinders. Even Porsche used 10 in their Carrera GT. Yes, there are fast cars with less than 8 cylinders but they aren't Supercars in my book.

Or the Porsche GT3, Turbo Carrera or Porsche Turbo Carrera GT2?

Even a stock naturally aspirated Carrera S or 4S touches on Supercar performance in accelaration and top speed and they are clearly in supercar territory in handling out of the showroom and they are every day drivers to boot! Simply add a tune/chip and they are in supercar territory period. Add a sport exhaust and it gets even better.

Sorry. I disagree. Cars with 6 cylinders can and clearly are found and considered to be in supercar territory.

I think the term supercar here also means exotic and clearly the GTR and P cars - except for the Carrera GT are not exotic. Many other cars can be made to go fast i. e. Camaros, Mustangs etc but don't fit within the supercar image - IMHO.

Upper end Porsches do fit the "exotic" category IMHO.

Some cars are more exotic then others.

To each his own.

I agree that the sundry Mustangs, Camaros, Subaru STi's etc are not exotic. They can be made into very fast cars but not exotic.
