2006 workshop manual says 31L engine cooling and 19L supercharger cooling.

For the supercharger "Less than 80% of coolant capacity can be recovered with the engine in the vehicle."

Very happy today. Engine fired up, everything working except the odometer Air cond man is coming tomorrow to gas up the system intercooler system only took 8 litres,, Drivers manual says it hold 17litres.. Only got 20 litres into the cooling system, manual says 25litres,, haven`t really warmed it up yet, so I guess when the thermostat opens it will want some more, but not sure about the intercooler,, Have bleed the system and run the pump,, no bubbles.. Anyone know for sure how much the intercooler system hold,, Cheers

Did you use a vacuum system to fill them? If not you probably have a lot of air in the lines.

Didn't use a vacuum system to fill them, just followed the manual advise for non vacuum method..AS I bought a second hand engine, Can only assume there was coolant in the block and engine intercooler. Def no air in the intercooler circuit,, bleed heater, that got another litre..

Ultrasport,
You are obviously very a talented fellow! If this is what you do for a hobby, what do you do in your real world?I’m thinking engineer? Thank you.Very enjoyable postings!
I bet you could chat with Rich and Dennis (THE GT GUYS) for hours!
They are the only others who could accomplish that task!

Vacuumed both systems, no air present.. must have been residue in the engine and intercooler.

rebuild

Dash top completed, off to the upholsteries. Test drove today. only quick run, no windscreen fitted yet. Wow well worth all the effort,, Just have to get the ABS configured and fix the odometer. When the upholsteries down can fit windscreen and refit the front end,, cant wait. To Rocketman, Just a kiwi spannerman, been building car stuff since I was 10years old. It is amazing what you learn along the way..

odometer

Very relieved today. Odometer now working. did all pinpoint tests, everything checked out ok, lightly scrubbed terminals, with a small pic, reconnected and a miracle appeared.. numbers on the odometer and trip meter.. As you know these parts are very expensive, so I can carry on.. One last problem the ABS is not working, the brake pedal is very hard, The booster has vacuum so more pinpoint testing tomorrow. Cant believe, these are the only problems after a ground up rebuild.. So very happy, cant wait to do more driving. as that is the whole point of the exercise, cant see the point of having one or more just for arts sake. Yesterday was the first time the car has sat on the ground with bodywork on it,, They look so sexy.

second drive

Wheel alignment done, steering straight. Will have to get my daughter to video me. Although have no idea how to put it on here, Just waiting for the dash top to come back from the upholsters, then windscreen can go on, then the front.
Anyone had the front off, Are the 3 rods that hang done from the front chassis section sandwiched between the front bumper and the under tray, as the bolts go in from the bottom . Was thinking of making 3 stronger supports

Yes the 3 rods are sandwiched between the sheet metal (that has the clip nut) and the chin spoiler.
I enjoy the pictures, incredible amount of work.
