Kip used to make and sell storage cubbies. I have one, it looks OEM and works great, but getting timely delivery could be problematic.

The reason I ask is,there is a Mac relocate mod you can do to get rid of the albatross of a speaker plopped right their. It relocates it to behind the seat and allows you to put in the non Mac storage unit their instead.A much better use of space and a bit more storage

Awesome job! Wow! And I love the big speaker right in the middle. Sounds great. Leave it stock.

Finished

Body finally finished, except for good clean and polish, Thanks too who ever had the idea to cut the inner fender protectors, made assemble a breeze. Could see how difficult it would have been to fit them as 1 piece,, Used nut serts to attach the Stillen mud deflectors looks neater than self tappers. Goodness I must have used about 200 of those tork head screws. Thanks to Steve for supplying them.. Just a couple of jobs to do on the inside and shes a runner... Looking forward to a long long test run.. How do I load a video..

Thanks too who ever had the idea to cut the inner fender protectors, made assemble a breeze.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong here, but I believe Shadowman was the 1st to come up with that a few years ago.

Recently, B.M.F. came up with his own solution:

Finished

Car fully assembled, Test driven, 200 odd miles, Love it.. Made all the blood sweat and tears all worth while. Just some minor things to get sorted now.. Final polish and then stick on the side stripes. Brake booster has a leak out the back of the pushrod,, No new ones available , got the last one but it too had the same fault.. New ABS unit coming so hope that will fix the problem.. otherwise what a delight to drive,, love the low down torque, just pulls from nothing.. Haven't done a full throttle run yet, not with a vacuum leak. Not real happy with the leather work, so might have another go after the fun of driving it wears off a little,, probably never will though.. The keen eyed amongst you will notice the front spoiler missing, just removed it to help access to get the ABS unit out. Your help has been a great asset to me , thanks to everyone who sent me pics or information , very much appreciated.

I like the GT's looks better without the front splitter!

You may have just started a trend/fad!

('Probably best to reinstall it before making spirited sprints down the Texas Mile or the like though!)

STOP! Leave the side stripe off! Love the look so much better without it! MY 02
Wow very impressive! Thats quite an accomplishement.Talk about following your dream!I am in awe of your project! I have really enjoyed following your postings.I only hope you will continue to post more pictures.By the way lets see some more of the inside of the right hooker!
You are correct however, the fun of driving it NEVER wears off! Nor does the joy of ownership!
I only hope you have a picture album of your project from start to finish. Please bring it with you when or if you come to Rally 10 in Detroit! This is the “big one”Unless you are joining us at Rally 9! In which case I would be glad to buy you dinner /drinks at either rally!
Congrats and best luck with your dream car!
My best regards,Ron

right hooker

A pic of the other side of the car Unfortunately the stitching on the leather leaves a lot to be desired, Had a top leather man do the Job, but he gave it to his off sider ,, Said he will redo it,, so will have to pull it all apart again, might put a reversing camera monitor just to the right of the column in the blank space..

I am amazed ! How did you make the center tunnel/console in to a right hand drive?

I would guess cutting out the sections of the hand brake and shifting and rewelding to the other side then refinishing. The workmanship seems flawless!

More of a PITA would be exchanging the SJB and foot pedals. :ack

Black ice, yes everything was quite a challenge had to remake the whole bulkhead panel to get the SJB (Hand to lengthen part of the loom)and the aircod outlets in the correct place, probably the most challenging was to reverse and remake the heater aircod unit,, was quite a relief when it was gassed up and everything did what it is supposed to. Not looking forward to Licencing as In Australia we have to pay stamp duty on the value could be upwards of $10,000 just a GOV tax, We also have GST good and services tax at 10% so if my GT was sold 10 times Gov could steel$100,000 in tax from new buyers,, With so much money coming in The idiots still say we are broke, Id better stop that thought now.. Looking forward to more driving and a few hill climbs and local club events!!!!!!!!!!!
