Rally III News - Who's Coming?

Ed's right, you are near both Shadowman and Harold Ford in Sacramento. You have very good choices to get the car looked at by people who care and can do the job right. Don't miss out on owning and driving a legend just because of a bad experience from a technician.

I took the GT to Harold Ford today. Dave in particular was very helpfull, and helped me with the hoses, and cleaning up the mess from my two incidences. I think I need to drive the car a few times without the hoses blowing off, to feel confident again. I appreciate you guys not giving me too much grief, and I appreciate that you picked up on my point of loosing confidence, because I really do love my GT, and would be heart broken to get rid of it. I suspect other exotics are a lot more of a PIA factor than the GT. I may still try to make the Rally, but I need to fly home Friday night, for Son's football game, because I love him even more.

Ready for info! I'll certainly be there. Didn't like having to miss Kali last summer. :(

I knew I signed up earlier! Here's my post from 12/10. Even though Bony and Dave still said I could get in, Since I don't see my name on the list in the first post I was gettiin' skeered.

see #135 on pg #1
I added you... :)

No reason to loose confidence in the FGT...
No reason to use your lack of confidence as a hijack on the rally thread...
There are great people on this forum that will help you, and every other owner. Furthermore, there are great dealers in your area and independent shops like AREA 51- SHADOWMAN.
Have you signed up on the GT Registry above and Awsum GT's California Registry?

Yes Indy, we ARE piggybacking. Don't listen to these guys.

Sounds like Dr. Frank has gone over to the Dark Side.:screwy:

Will we get pics of you guys piggybacking? We call it something else down here in TX.

Spirit I'm, guessing that from now on all requests from Dr. Frank about driving will fall on deaf ears. I promise I wont request to piggyback with you.

Thank Goodness.:ban:

Here's a little video clip you guys from Texas may appreciate! Somewhere akin to piggybacking or spooning............ or Dancing with a Man!

:thumbsup :banana :cheers

Well, I thought the vidio was FUNNY. :lol :eek :lol

Nobody liked the Dancing with A Man music video??? I thought it was pretty funny........... :biggrin Was at SEMA final dinner as the guest of the President of the organization about 8-9 years ago. All black tie final dinner, Carrot Top was the entertainment. 5000 dinners in Black Tie. Not one joke Carrot Top told receive a single laugh. Went on for about 20 minutes, then he quit, walked off the stage, told everyone this was the worst evening of his life, and got a standing ovation from the SEMA crowd!!! Just goes to show ya, funny is in the eye of the beholder.

I thought it was funny also. Speaking of Carrot top was that the guy in the green sweater in the video? I bet he pulled many props out of his(her) pants.

It was the one and only Carrot Top, he tried pulling things out of his pants at SEMA a few years ago and it did not go over well. But this video is a hit! :thumbsup

I heard a rumor about Rally III?

The BONY-Meister had offered to by the first round of Maker's Mark Manhattans for everyone who showed up with a GT at the opening reception? Not sure where I heard it but I think it is a good start! :cheers

Let me guess, another Medical Doctor with a red FGT :-)

Sounds like Triheart7 is on the road to happier GT cruising. :banana

MDs aren't all bad............? Especially when they own a FGT! :wink

You never know when you might need us!!!

Chah-ching!!! Bring on the MM Manhattans! :cheers

I figure that is roughly about 160 MM Manhattans, you can set up a bar next to the White GT, bring in MMark in from Fresno..... shouldn't be a problem!

I'm in for Vegas :cheers
Picking up biatchin car hauler from Tommys Trailer next month, ironically, in Sin City :party

Pete, I got a Tommys last year and love it. Make sure you get the 7' ramps. Someone on the boards said they only come in 5' and 6' but if you whine they will give you at N/C the 7'. My car has been lowered and scraped with the 6' but no problem with the 7'.

The first day of the rest of Triheart's Most Excellent Life of Crusing in his Ford GT! :cheers

I have only about 7100 more posts to catch up with you know who!

Steve...was gonna ask you what trailer but dove in :biggrin

Looked at Featherlite but sold on edgeless-wider ass end surface area, bitchian diamond plate air dam, Rusty is going to cut off 1' off the rear making it total length 21' so I can dock it in the garage and added 7' + ramps n/c. Mid America hospitality..SOLD :thumbsup

I e-mailed some of our Mark IV members the other day to get feedback on a Rally III idea. Based on the responses, I think we have a location.

The other day I talked to a forum member who has long been friends with Carroll Shelby. During a recent conversation, Carroll inquired how the group was and what had been going on in the community. He was very happy to be a part of Rally II in Newport Beach. After discussion, Carroll offered that if we ever ran an event in Las Vegas, he'd throw us a heck of a party at SAI.

There had been a lot of discussion about moving Rally III eastward after doing Newport Beach in 07. While I agree with this sentiment, given the unique opportunity available I think it is a no brainer to seize the day and take the chance to bring our Ford GT's to Las Vegas and Shelby Automotive in 2008. Texas, Florida, etc, will always be there. So will Las Vegas, but not with Carroll at the helm. Add in the weather, the variety of good local roads to travel, and this looks like another killer Ford GT Forum event.

I'm going to LV for Carroll's 85th(!) Birthday Bash on January 11th to meet with Amy Boylan and discuss planning for an event at their facility. That week, we should have dates and details of Ford GT Rally III - Las Vegas.

I hope this information sounds good.
