Wally's custom harness bars, worth their weight in gold. My special set crafted in black decadence...
Ok Guys ...No Worries
I will be out of town for a couple weeks , but will collect the list info and reply to all. I have quite a few PM's and am getting ready for a board meeting monday. I will reply as I have time this eve and next week.
No need to pay till it's all shipped out. Would rather not send the stuff one at a time if more than one item is needed. There are some good savings in shipping if I can put all the stuff together.
Plenty of Bars in Stock, just not been advertising or active lately with the real job in the way.
Here is what I have available:
Harness Bars - In Stock
Belt Clips - I have 10 sets right now and am having more cut next week. These are not the BK Clips, these are heavy duty, and designed for the GT. They are Driver / Pass specific. As Shadowman mentioned you can swing them out of the way and use you OEM belts. You will not know they are there unless you want to.
Belt Sets - In Stock . Also comes with a bag to store the belts in if you prefer to take them out of the car between events. The bag will also fit behind the seats.
Fire Ext Brackets - Low stock about 6 will run some more based on requests. Takes a couple weeks. Has every thing you need, easy Install.
Ti Shims - In Stock
Roundel Kits - In Stock, also a couple OEM Heritage number sets left. Will see about doing something inexpensive , but nice looking for the event as the cars require numbers.
There are a few other items as well, but this thread seams to be focused on the Comp Set Ups and Track gear.
From What I understand the Texas Mile is a NASA event. With TIme Trials rules for saftey equipment. This is the same as most open track requirements.
Here what I believe is required assuming they are still running NASA rules for the event, unless we have an exemption of some sort:
Helmet - Check Snell rating I believe it's now 2000 vs. 1995 rated, but for time trials they had it at Snell 1995 for awhile.
6 Point Harness - I only sell this set up - some have mentioned they saw a four point version of it. That is because the crotch belt was not clipped in for the pic. See SYCO GT's pics they are representative.
Gloves - Any leather glove or a rcing glove leather and nomex- No Nylon
2.5lb Fire Extinguisher - Safecraft bottles meet this spec if you already have one. And they look outstanding. If you have the halon system for the engine bay, that does not qualify as you do not have a spray head in the cockpit.
Fire Ext Bracket mount - I have these as well. They are different than the early onles with just two holes. These have a track cut in them so you can mount the assy forward and use the space behind the rear seat or adjust so the seat is all the way back. Wrench required and provided.
Driver Apparel - Same as Time trials or Open track. Leather top shoes, not nylon. Tennis shoes are fine, but must be leather top.
Long Sleeve cotton Shirt
Cotton Pants
Cotton Undies - But never had anyone check :biggrin
Why no nylon or ployester?- In a fire it melts and the material will burn into your skin. Cotton burns on top of the skin. Nomex is not supposed to burn itself, but that does not protect your skin fom cooking under it.
Once you have this gear you should have no issue running any open track event in the country. NHRA howevr is a different story, based on how fast you plan to go. :bs
I have read some comment that 4-6 point harnesses are not recommended in cars without rolls bars, as it prevents one from sliding downward in a possible rollover, and thus rests 'quite a bit' of weight on one's head/neck.
For someone particularly tall whose helmet already more or less touches the roof, I wonder if it should be avoided and stick with traditional factory belt?
Thanks
