Matt we were hopeing the Performancepower white/blue GT would have pulled in Yesterday as the GT's stole the show. Tomy Hamon PS You truly represent the GT Group well!

I cant get johnny out of the car for a day, he has put probly 500 miles on it since the race still has the tap and parachute on it. his daughter had a strawberry festival, son a blacksmith class and the ufc fight last night so texas wasnt on his list this weekend, but the problem is they wont let us run 250 out there with there rules and what not. its just not worth it. im not going to texas for them to tell us we need to come back a second time to run over 200mph.

why wouldn't they let you run 250? someone did today.

The GT gets a pass on the roll bar requirement at the Texas Mile if that's the reason you think you cannot run there.

Matt,

There are no rules at the Texas Mile that would keep you or Ray or that Lambo from running 250+. The Texas Mile is the original and still the standard. Come out and run!

Yep, I heard a rumor that some guy did over 217 in the TX mile without any safety harnesses, or fire suit, just used some street clothes, gloves and helmet. :biggrin

The Run

:lol :lol :lol

Ice,

That run will always be a classic! I still laugh every time I think about it. Those of us parked near the 1 mile mark that day heard this tremendous roar, and Soroush goes streaking by like he was shot out of a cannon clipped into the standard seat belt and wearing a cotton shirt and his loafers. The guy standing next to me says, "You gotta be shitting me!!!".

The Mile officials jerk him out of his car and Soroush is trying to tell them he only has a little 3.4 Whipple and must have hit that run "just right".

I don't care how fast he goes in the future, that 217 pass will always be "The Run".

Seems like a shame that you guys think the Texas Mile shutdown area is not long enough. All the cars this weekend had plenty of room to stop without using chutes. I guess you have already talked yourself out of running where all the fast cars come to run against each other. Miami is like shooting fish in a barrel for you guys. Maybe someday that will get old and you will change your mind that a half mile to stop isn't enough room.

BTW most if not all the people on this board are on your side, so no need to get defensive......we all have GT's.

Moderators Note

Gentlemen,

I have just deleted 4 posts from this thread. Performance Power has set a new standard not just for GTs, but for all street legal cars in the mile. Questioning timing equipment or method is unacceptable. I understand and DBK has confirmed that the timing devices used in Florida were first rate.

Ray Hoffman was one of the first people to post up to congratulate Matt & his team for doing something nobody had done before. When any GT takes this game to the next level, we all win.

Last weekend I was in the Heffner paddock most of the time. Jason and his crew helped countless other teams & car owners out with parts, tools, & labor. None of those cars but mine (& Rays) were Heffner cars.

I talked at length with every member of the Heffner crew including Jason and not a single disparaging word was said about Performance Power. On the contrary, everybody was complimentrary.

If Performance Power had been in Texas and needed a part or some help to make a final run or two, Ray Hoffman and Jason Heffner would be the first to offer help. I trust Matt would do the same.

The type of trash talk that is the norm at Team Shelby and Viper Alley is not tolerated here. Any further such posts will be deleted immediatly.

Ray & Matt have built some amazing cars & the Supra era is probably over. But the cars are still secondary to the good fellowship that makes this the best site on the web. Let's keep it that way.

LOL at Mullet picking a race with 255mph car. I bet Mullets got some plans for this coming October.

Don't mind me, I'm just stirring it up.

thank you chip and we will keep you guys informed about what we do. my understanding with texas mile is that you have to run 200mph and then can not do so again until there next run. is that the case?

Very well said Chip, "When any GT takes this game to the next level, we all win". This past weekend I saw many GT owners working and helping each other reach their peak performance and speed on each run. Ford GT owners are truly different and totally dedicated to the CAR and its owners. Let's keep it that way. All that attended the Texas Mile experienced much more than just a speed contest. Daniel (Boney) was there with us and he had a Ball. Keep working on those GT's making them faster and more desirable and we all WIN. God Bless America where we enjoy our SPECIAL RIDES ,The Ford GT. absolutely untrue.

you are confusing a Mile event in California with Texas.

I'll run it down for you.....

In Texas to run 190 mph plus you need only the following for your GT:

Helmet
Gloves
Suit
5 point harness
fire extinguisher

I didnt see the post that were deleted, I dont want to, we all have gts here and like chip said, everytime someone raises the bar its better for all of us. its kind of like free R&D for the rest of the people, Im always appreciative of the trailblazers that are willing to put the time and money on a project that will ultimately benefit everyone that has a gt. Ray, the heffner team and the power performance team have done this in a big way!

thanks,

now somebody tell me how I can get some more fuel out of my pumps.:lol
