Begs the question of why Ford went with GY.
No chance a Bridgestone was making it on any Ford circa 2002. Firestone/Explorer situation.

:thumbsupThe Potenza RE050A Scuderia was developed for a car that ended production shortly after GT production commenced.
Ought to make a good daily driver or track car! It's hard to believe that an un-rebuilt salvage car is worth the original sticker price.

Oh yes, I forgot about that one. Which is worst the Takaka air bags or Firestone on Ford? So far Firestone...$$$$ and Bridgestone = Firestone = Bad memories.
No kidding!! I never would have thought it, as far as it making a good track car believe it or not only one of the cars I have sold became a track car which mark just twin turbo and ran the mile last month. Salvage title doesn't keep it from being a collector car, they increase in value right behind one that has never been totaled. Beckert has bought several from me some clean some salvage and wouldn't part with any of them and his favorite out of the 4 he currently owns is a salvage and has increased $50k in value since he bought it from me 2 years ago. I love these cars and enjoy building them and putting them back on the road, if they were all totaled and scraped there wouldn't be any left 20 years from now. I already have 2 buyer lined up for this car and both are collectors. Scott give me a call tomorrow I would like to do some parts swapping with u. :thumbsup
Thanks! There are several different scenarios for people buying a total vs higher mileage, color is one, the lower miles and salvage title seems to be more appreciated then a higher mileage car with unknown history as well. At least with a salvage title you know what your getting is the way some think of it. A lot of it has to do with the dollar, some people have saved for long periods of time just to buy a clean title one and the price increased faster then their bank account increased leaving them that extra 30-40k short of a non wrecked one. For instance one buyer pulled the trigger on a salvage tungsten that I had, and had he waited another month I would have increased the cars pricing another 10-15k.Andy, I'm glad you are putting them back on the street!!! I'm still amazed and confused by the vast pricing difference...you sell rebuilt salvage cars for 170-180K and I have seen what I considered clean title cars on ebay for 210K or so sit there even though they may have 20K or more miles.
I just don't know what matters more....higher miles...or salvage. Seems like people are wanting lower mileage cars no matter what. Just an observation!!!!

Because it was the only company "willing" to make the rear tire, which was critical to achieving in excess of 200 mph.
Oh yes I averaged 24 miles per gallon anything under 110 mph, on the autobahn at 145 mph a couple of hours and the tank was dry. What a ride.
True, and Goodyear REALLY wanted to be the OE tire on this car and was willing to do whatever it took to be the tire on our car.
Oh and ICE one of the big factors not mentioned in your Wikipedia post was many (if not all) of the owners involved in these tread separation incidents all had significantly underinflated tires. Underinflated tires undergo more flexing during rolling and develop high internal heat due to this flexing. This heat eventually has cumulative adverse effects on the rubber leading to, in the case of the Firestone Wilderness tire, tread separation and ultimate tire failure.
??? And yet when you and Chris stopped by at our Rally 6 track event at Miller Motorsports Park in Utah and you ACTUALLY put the around-North America and Europe car on the track with us rally participants you never seemed to ever get over 70 mph and the flagman kept signaling you about faster overtaking traffic. It seems to me, IMHO, going 150 mph on a track with a helmet and safety support immediately available is considerably safer than negotiating low/high speed traffic on the Autobahn at the claimed 145 mph for hours.

Indy, I'm wishing you and your family a wonderful holiday season.
If you do go to Classic Lemans I think in 2016, it will be a trip to remember.

You must have paper work for all the countries or you will be in trouble. Its ALOT of work, but again a real once in a lifetime event.
