We are replacing the fender and the door and rear bonnet will be repaired with an aluminum stud gun in which they weld studs to the dented area and pop the dent out with a slide hammer. I will post picks later in the week of the progress.

Here's a video for aluminum repair (they are looking at things here that aren't big enough to need the force of the slide hammer, but I think the studs they use are the same)

Here's a video of David Kirkham doing a much larger repair. This is a craftsman at work!

I've been practicing on beer and soda cans. Filing is hard to do. I am impressed.

Frank willing, I'm ready to practice on his RED FGT.

Just a small dent with a hammer, then using a torch I'll try to get it out without damaging the paint. :lol

This is great info. Headed down to GT Guys this afternoon with a case of beer, my hammer and a torch. There's plenty of cars to practice on. :biggrin

Not my car. I just noticed the radar detector while looking it over. The head lights were just laying in a pile with the rest of the parts. When I explained what they cost to replace, the guy just shrugged. The great unwashed I guess.
Whoever had it before must of owned stock in a tie strap company tho.
Can't wait to see it all fixed up. Will make a real nice driver. As they all should be IMHO.
I will post some more photos this week as it should be completed Friday if the rest of the back order parts show up! Ya the headlights showed up in a box of parts and I was just happy to see they were undamaged and didn't have any scratches. The new owner has sent me a polished Whipple, CDC bumper delete, heffner exhaust, accufab throttle body, SCT programmer, borla headers, she is going to be a beautiful car!

So..................was this a lazy / inept insurance adjuster OR has legal/acturial dept. decided any car capable of 200+mph is too much liability after any crash

Seems like ins. co left $100K on table

Looks like a lazy insurance adjuster, they disassembled the car for inspection and I have found no legitimate reason for this car to be totaled, adjuster was probably to lazy to research prices, I would love to have seen the estimate.

It always is good thing to see a GT being returned to good health.

And these pictures sure helps in reminding the viewers their GT is made up of a lot of really cool pieces.

Thanks and Good Work.

Thanks Jeff. I'll remember that.

Now if I can only find the rest of the 4000 or so pieces needed to build a GT, I can have one of my very own.

Thanks GT Tech, yes we where able to salvage the right door without any issues, we did have to replace the front right fender and bumper cover as well as some other miscellaneous pieces, it coming together quick, the front and rear splitters are getting harder to get but I have located some new ones as well as a new right front knuckle. Ready to send it to its new owner. And start the next one in line. :)

Update

Just a few updated photos, car has been reassembled for the most part, bumper has not been installed due to we were waiting on right front scoop. Car is in the buffing stage right now and should be complete tomorrow, then we can finish the mods ...like getting rid of the non bumper delete exhaust.
