The laws of physics are still in play no matter how large your supercharger is. You will still be limited to a similar level of boost on pump gas so the power increase on pump gas will either need to come from a reduction in parasitic drag with the new unit or increased efficiency which results in an air inlet temperature reduction. On race fuel the larger unit should make a nice difference with the increase in available airflow.

Thanks Professor!

Hmmm that easy eh, dang. I must find out then why my mechanic has me waiting around for his hoist to be free mid next week to get my existing unit off? He was going on about access to belt from underneath? :confused

I'd have like to have had my existing unit already boxed up and sent back to be sold, with the new unit on the way shortly after that....

im trying to sell my stock SC as well... how do you go about doing this? Craigslist?

If you live near the water, maybe you can sell it as a boat anchor. :lol

BTW, I still have mine too and a live by the water.

Hook it up to a 351 and it will make a great food processor. Use a 427 and it's a killer juicer. Too bad Billy Mays has passed on...

Dude, I already have a 3.4, hence why I said I'm sending it back to be sold. Where else would I be sending a stock blower back to, Ford? LOL :rofl Sorry if you were mislead by what I said. In my case, seeing as the 4.0 is essentially another $10k, I do feel the need recover something from my original outlay of $10k for the 3.4 I've only been running for a bit over a year and has all of 900 miles use.

I'm never going to sell my stock blower or any original GT parts in case I need to ever return it to stock running gear.

Shadowman, I have a question for ya (again :ack ). I finally got the programer to upload Whipple's tune and I took it out for a test spin. I initally noticed that the O2 gauge was reading lean (more so than normal) under light load. Then when I did a couple of 3rd gear rolls the O2 was reading 12/1 - 12.5/1. I know this is to lean for a supercharged car but I think my O2 sensor may be miss-calibrated. What is the best procedure to recalibrate the in dash O2.

Thanks again for lending me your expertise. You advice was very helpful but it was also extremely reassuring to know I had someone of your caliber to call on should things go really bad.

Matt, thanks for lending me a hand. I really appreciate that you would help me tackle a project like this... especially sense you knew how difficult it would be BEFORE we began. Not many friends would stay until the wee hours cranking on someone else's car. I promise not to rub in the FACT that I have billet arms, and you don't, any more. Well, at least not as much.

A few picture of Whipple's new offering:

A guy at a local speed shop told me that the "screw could be turned around and that it would make the 4L a 7L." He may have been talking trash but he said he got that information from Whipple? Anybody know what he is talking about?

I would say that he must have a loose screw, not a reversed screw. :confused
