4.0 liter Whipple ????

A guy at a local speed shop told me that the "screw could be turned around and that it would make the 4L a 7L." He may have been talking trash but he said he got that information from Whipple? Anybody know what he is talking about?

Very incorrect information! Hopefully none of my guys said this, if so they need to be hit over the head!! :)

If I heard a tale like this, I wouldn't hit anyone, but I would run out the door as fast as I could and erase the address from my memory!

I think 427Aggie knows the guy. I didn't want to argue with him, as I know very little about the internals of the whipple.

I would say that he must have a loose screw, not a reversed screw. :confused

Whipple

Dyno tuned our first 4.0L last week and on a conservative 91 octane tune it did 749rwhp 667rwtq. No additional fuel modifications needed. Stock 1000 mile car with only the Whipple and a Heffner cat back. There was more left in there but we wanted to go the conservative route for this car.

This will be our Rally package!!

Hoping someone will soon dyno a Gen II v Gen III, back to back.

Rich, can you tell us how much boost, timing and what the AF looked like?

How hard were the fuel pumps working?

Does the 4.0Litre come polished as standard? (i don't want a Black one!)

Thanks!

Yes, I did not want a polished one.

4.0 whipple bad to the bone

just got car back from the gt guy with new polished 4.0 whipple and heffner pipes sounds great dino was 749 with 19 lbs of boost to the wheels at 6300 rpms car is so much faster ... thanks gt guy

how much rwtq did it make and at what rpm did the torque peak at? was that on pump gas? 93 octane?

how much timing were you running and what was the A/F ratio?

that was 93 oct was tuned to 91 now its 93 rear wheel trq was 600 lbs at 6000 dont no what u mean on the other ?

is the 4.0Litre bordering on overkill?....i.e does it expose other limiting factors?...and would I therefore be better off with a GenI/II ??

There is no such thing as too much power.

200 mph in a country mile... here I come.

The 4.0 litre we need to know!!!!!!!!

Ok you guy's that have recieved your 4.0 superchargers we need to know. Tell us like it is, we are chomping at the bit to know your feedback. There are a hand full of us ready to spend our Strip club money but are waiting to here that what you have purchased, tuned and dynoed is better than a night out with the drinking buddys. We all want the best BANG for our buck and we just need to know how to spend it! Please let us know any obsticals you faced and what parts you added or changed down to the spark plugs. We are looking to you to show us how to do it right. If you could, leave us your phone number so we can talk to you directly. Best regards.
