    Michelin Super Sport Tires

As someone else noted, it's the Pilot Sport Cup tires that we should be seeking. These new Michelin's, replacement for the PS2's, are not quite up to the performance specs of the Cup tires. I run them on my Porsche 997S and they (the Cup tires) are significantly better than the PS2's. In another...

Do it yourself Halon extinguisher install

I purchased one of these halon systems from CoolTech when I ordered my transmission cooler. At the time I was unaware of Bill's hard-line system which I likely would have preferred but both perform identical functions. Turns out that Bill did the install, along with the cooler and a number of...

    2011 BOSS 302 white/black trim

I have never been a Mustang guy at all. Heavy, solid rear axle. But this car does touch a nerve. If I had room for another toy, I'd be all over this exact one. The engine/tranny combo, chassis stiffening, excellent suspension makes it the real deal. Oh and white exterior of course. GL with it.

    Engine running temperature

Correct me if I'm wrong, but putting the AC on when the car is hot is not the right course to correct the problem. It likely will make the problem worse, particularly, as you noted, at standstill. The age old salve for a quick dissipation of heat in a street car is to put the heat full on and...

Shadowman is about to "Unleash" Ed's Beast

This car is just fabulous. Ed, great taste in mods. And Bill, well what else can be added? The build is simply remarkable. Intricacy and complexity executed to perfection. Sadly, not what the OEM would do. Far better in fact. Just looking at the weld on the bracket in the second photo on page 1...

    Gauge Malfunction / Charger survey

...and just after having my voltmeter repaired, it would appear that my fuel gauge just bit the dust. It's pegged on 'full'. Out of warranty of course.

    Finally got one!

Agree with Shadowman here. There is no significant difference in driveability (i.e. safety) with stock power versus the pulley/tune, so having the car with an expert like Shelby to get it done, versus waiting until later seems like the right thing to do. I'd also go with the trans cooler...

Motorcars Intl & Lambo of Houston

I purchased my FGT from Lambo of Houston a few years back. In general, an excellent experience.

How long to wait to cover your GT?

Ditto. We go in and out of the garage often so the cover serves as minor ding protection. Also there is dust and stuff that circulates in my garage no matter how often I try to clean it. I just enjoy 'unclothing her' when the time is just right.

    Back to Rally IV.

I told my three kids that college isn't trade school. Take whatever you want, and get as diverse an education as you can. No excuse to take it easy. Good grades were expected regardless of their pursuits. After that, you can focus when you get to graduate school. They all abided by our guidance...

    Garage 4 Post Car Lifts

I'm about to take the jump and purchase a garage lift. Two major questions: 1. Can someone (or many) validate that the GT will work with the narrow (or now wide) Bend-Pak lift? 2. Does anyone out there have a single post lift? Not sure it's wise in earthquake country, but servicing in less a...

    What would you have bought.....

If I had the time - I'd build an Ultima CanAm If I had the money - I'd buy a Porsche Carrera GT If I had neither, but wanted a immensely enjoyable driver - I'd buy a Porsche GT3 RS

    FORD GTand the shelby cobra

Though not a very well founded survey, I will say that the car, amazing as it is (a personal favorite of mine) does not have the crowd appeal of the GT. I attend a C&C gathering on Saturday's in San Jose and there are usually one or two well built Cobra's there regularly. When I bring the GT...

Trunk tray latches - need a couple

I removed my trunk tray - to access my battery - with the hope of tightening the ground wire and fixing my dead voltmeter. In the process I found that one of the four plastic latches (the 1/2 turn types that fasten the trunk tray to the frame) was missing. And somehow during the process, I...

    Ford (FGT) Extended Warrenty

Is this worthwhile? Is it still available after the warrany expires? And rough cost estimate?

    Gauge Malfunction / Charger survey

I keep her stored in the garage, on a BT charger for varying periods of time (1 week - 2 months w/o driving). I had a one-time problem with the gas gauge not registering right after a fill-up, but it corrected itself within hours. Now however I appear to have a dead voltmeter. Everything else is...

    Dead volt meter

Thanks all. I'll check the ground, and try a deep charge and a longer drive. But more likely a trip to Shadowman. Good excuse for an exhaust upgrade. Of course now I have to make a decision on that one... BTW, for anyone interested, I just started playing with this (currently in my other car)...

    Dead volt meter

A week ago, I took my GT out for a short ride, after she had been resting for quite some time. I always leave her on a Battery Tender so starting was no problem. The car ran perfectly but sometime during the ride I noticed that the voltmeter had not budged - pinned to the far left. I took her...

    how to use airliftsystem

Very valuable device. The only guidance I'd add is that it requires patience. The time required to get to the target negative pressure on my Porsche was more than 30 mins. That wasn't obvious to me when reading the instructions but Shadowman helped me out. From there, it was a piece of cake.

Owner Review: GT vs. Nissan GTR (photos)

+1. Many thanks as well. Objective, informative, and a great read. You have owned and driven many outstanding cars that are at the top of my personal wannabe list. It's nice living vicariously through your experiences. Just as everyone else has their preferences, I couldn't have a DD that gets...
