I know this has been covered about how a Ford extended service warrenty was not available on the FGT but I also know that Ford let some dealers sell them toward the end of FGT production

Would anyone who has one be willing to share with me how the Ford written document goes? Was there a special code that Ford gave the dealership to sell an extended warrenty to the FGT owner?

My fax is (678) 475 1207

Help?

Thanks!

Is this worthwhile? Is it still available after the warrany expires? And rough cost estimate?

Was this offered and authorized to everyone? Was it for selective dealerships? Who do we call upon at Ford to ask?

I thought that only some Dealers were authorized in order to move out some 2006 model GT's.

At this point all you can do is talk to your Ford dealer to find out the details.

I was told by folks within Ford and shared on this Forum before that this warranty extension was never sanctioned by Ford for the Ford GT’s however a few did slip through the cracks and as such have extended warranties in place.

FYI this was a no cost promotional add on warranty to offset the value of the new model year cars with longer base warranties; this was a new dealer selling tool to be used to move old inventory.

I hope that this helps

My car was one that the owner of the Dealership was keeping for himself. He never registered it and it had 15 miles when I bought it. I am very happy that I have coverage until 2012!:thumbsup

If I remember correctly, all this was mulled over on a thread sometime back and the bottom line arrived at was "no".

Perhaps Larry, but my dealer (Bowen Scarff Ford) says powertrain warranty coverage until 12 of 2012 - and was complimentary. Maybe you unloaded yours way too soon! Ed

I have the same situation as JoeA2. My dealer put 2500 miles on it and did not activate warranty untill shortly before I bought it. Mine is good thru 01/2011 and 36K. I am headed in soon to get the warped vents fixed.

'Warranty had nothing to do with the decision. :cheers

(BTW, I was referring to the discussion 'members had about any FGT owner getting a warranty like yours - or any extended warranty for that matter - at THIS stage of the game..."after the fact", if you will. :wink)

I'm talking to a dealer now about his personal car. It has a few thousand miles on it, but was never sold. Claims I will receive full warranty. What extra value (if any) would you think this adds to car?

Thanks. I working at joining your esteemed club.

The longer you are protected the better! Repairs would not be cheap.

Mark Williams' car? He's a good guy, I bought my GT from him.

Not that it makes a hill of beans, but, If you buy the car from the dealer it makes you the First, Original owner and the car a one-owner for re-sale. But, you would have to sell it for that to matter and at this point, "NOT GOING TO HAPPEN" for me.
