Roy Lunn & Automotive Hall Of Fame

With another Le Mans & Ford victory behind us, wanted to share this about the man responsible for the cars that won Le Mans in 1966-1969, Roy Lunn. On July 21, he will be inducted into the Automotive Hall of Fame, Dearborn, MI. I just came back from the AHOF and taping of interview about Lunn...

EPA Wants to Ban Modifying our cars!!!!

That wasn't the issue with the EPA that I was talking about. The last time I looked, new car manufacturers were not having any problems building and selling mega-horsepower cars: Camaro, Mustang, Challenger, Charger, Corvette, Viper, the upcoming Ford GT, Lambo, Ferrari, McLaren. For all their...

EPA Wants to Ban Modifying our cars!!!!

It's not up Hillary's alley and it's also not happening! EPA revised language of the press release/announcement and all is good. We can sleep tonight now that the government isn't sneaking into our garages at night, checking emissions and possibly confiscating our rides. Or putting speed shops...

In Conversation with Edsel B. Ford II & Mose Nowland

Mose is a great guy who spent a lot of time with me on the phone when I was writing my new book, FORD TOTAL PERFORMANCE. Photo attached: Edsel Ford II presented the prestigious Spirit of Ford Award to race engine engineer, Mose Nowland, left, with his wife, Marcia, at a special event at the...

Lots of FGTs being offered at auction according to Hagerty

I have no "skin" in the auction game and have no interest in selling my FGT, but my opinion is that prices/values of 2005-2006 FGTs will probably rise when the 2017 model hits the market. I think we start to lose track of the historical significance of the original FGTs, that the new car will...

    What batter tender to use?

I use CTEK chargers for my C6 Corvette with plug-in lead permanently installed under the hood and same model with cig lighter plug for the GT. Both chargers work with traditional batteries as well as Optima-type. They work well.

    FORD TOTAL PERFORMANCE, new book

Thanks for the nice words, and thanks for shooting some photos for me for the book. Your photo of me with my GT made me look good which is no easy job. It's on the book cover flap. Book took over a year to write and, unlike so many "coffee-table" car books, it's much more than a lot of great...

    Great book

No, that comes next month when I start "thumping" my new book, FORD TOTAL PERFORMANCE, with a publication date of Oct 30! It's on Amazon now for pre-ordering and, while I may be a little prejudiced, it is a helluva good read plus lots of nice period photography. It starts with Model A & T...

    Great book

I may be a little late to the party and this is old news, but just got a copy of a great reference book for Ford GT and GT40 enthusiasts, owners, etc. It's THE FORD GT, published in 2004 by the Society Of Automotive Engineers (SAE), on the development and build of the original GT40s and the Ford...

    Let's do lunch!

Had a real thrill today, visited GT40 Godfather Roy Lunn with Xcentric for a photo shoot at his home. I've taken Roy on as a client and will be working with him and his family to preserve his archives for the future. He's had incredible careers at Ford, doing the Mustang 1 Concept, all the...
