Just thought that a V6 ECO Boost engine would be cheap-ish to buy and have modified with stronger internals and big turbos.
Then mount that and store away the original motor.

I would like to see a 1000 HP NFGT :thumbsup

The 3.5L in the new car is expensive. I think you'll find it costs more than our old 5.4L.

I'm sure there is atleat a hundred hp with some bolt ons and a tune. The GT is supposed to be very light also so power to weight should be pretty good.

I would mod mine if I am lucky enough to get one. I plan on going to church more often, like once or twice LOL

As an owner of another car with a TT V-6 (Nissan GT-R), I can assure you there's gonna be plenty of a$$ available in this engine. Plus, the NFGT will be about 1000lbs lighter. I grant you it won't have the roar of our V-8 cars, but it's gonna be great!

Haha Mark - I bet you have ideas already. And I say GO for it..
But yes, and extra 100-150 should be easy on the stock engine with just a new tune and a bit more boost.

And who would be first to put 20/21 inch HRE wheels on theirs? ;-)

Ouch - never would have thought that

But the race engine is not miles away from the engine found in the F150
I read that the race engine can make 1000 HP unrestricted, that's impressive http://www.hotrod.com/features/1505-exclusive-look-at-the-engine-that-could-power-fords-all-new-gt/

Let's wait and see what Mark decides haha

As I think I'm about the only one in the world with out even a pulley and tune, I think you might be able to guess my answer.... it will be fast enough as built. I'll still take my chances against faster cars on a track with turns.

Not the ONLY one--there are at least two.

Ford has some pretty good engineers on staff. If I'm lucky enough to get FGT, I'll probably enjoy it as they designed it.

I would leave it as Ford designed. The new GT was purpose built to be a race car. I think we will all find its performance is second to none.

My only mod would be the personalized license plate....

"StefsGT" or the alternate more likely scenario.... "LUCKYSOB" :biggrin

I don't think I would change or add anything that could not be undone and put back to OEM. But I said that when I bought my 2005 GT 11 years ago.

A cage only makes it slower Mark :)

I guess we can rest assured the Texas mile record will remain in the hands of a ford gt for some time to come

Yes. I'm going for the Upton upgrade.

I believe it to complementary to the rather tight interior of this new GT. ;-))
