Best deal by far.

I paid MSRP for a brand-new, MSO, 1 mile, one day old (at the dealership) GT and had it picked up within 48 hours of its arrival at Sugarland Ford in Texas. My purchase was the culmination of a six-month search for a yellow GT with black stripes at MSRP. I had opportunities to purchase many other colors at below MSRP but those didn't count. MSRP on a yellow car was a better deal to me than below MSRP on another color. Not the best deal you say!?! Perhaps not. But it sure felt like it at the time, and it still does today. If I could find a second brand-new yellow GT tomorrow and buy it for MSRP, THAT would really be the deal of the century!

Why, we all know, on average, it would be much higher than 06? The price you paid is pointless to another party. Some people feel get more than enough value back for the early premium they paid, others were more willing to wait for the pricing to fall before buying one.

Purchased "06" Black with silver stripes on 11/30/06 all four options from Palm Coast Ford in Florida. 7K below MSRP. I did have to pay for transporting. I have an estimate from the fall of "05" and our local dealer wanted $220 to take home:willy Needless to say NO DEAL!!!

I got THE best deal!

I had a down payment that was $15K over list. I tried to change the order once I saw Craig Jackson's black/no stripe GT in Scottsdale. No dice.

Said dealer then tried to jack me a month before delivery for another $10K. I was able to get out of the deal...and that very day I got the ride of my dreams!!!

That is THE best deal! Black/no stripes...and fast as $&*t :biggrin

I've been kind of wondering when this question/threat would appear.

I thought I was very luck in getting my '06 Tungston with all options at $157,000 even.

As I remember it, msrp was $166,950 divided into $157,000, that's 5.96% off msrp.

I was very pleased with that deal.

But, quite frankly, who cares. I was never into buying this car about getting the best deal, but I was quite pleased with my purchase.

I first saw, and sat in, a blue/white stripe GT at the Barrett/Jackson auction in January of 2005. (It was pre-recall, as I remember). I bid on it, but I was no where close, as it went for over 300k. I knew right then I had to start getting my emotions in order, as I just had to have one of these cars.

My deal was done in Oklahoma. This dealer sold mostly trucks, the big 150 and 250 types. They stuck a brief add on ebay, I think it was the first one they had ever had. I called them, made the deal right there.

It was Joe Cooper Ford, very nice people. It was good luck, and life is often times a matter of timing.

But who cares, I was going to buy one anyway, so I was lucky. I'm guessing before this thread is done, there will be someone or somebody, and maybe many, that got a much better deal than I did.

But at this point, I’m the leader in the clubhouse. But who cares anyway! :cheers

Paid 4K under sticker for my '05 (MSRP=156K)....had the car 7 days when the tech spun it out in a ditch....1 mo. getting stuff fixed....10K back from the dealers insurer. I guess all told, I got my car for 142K, plus the red-ass associated with it being in the shop, damaged with 300 miles on the clock. Amazing how 2 years later its a distant memory. Almost 8K miles on the car...numerous track days.... a wonderful trip to Indy with the wife. Looking forward to motoring out to Vegas in Sept.

I'd like to hear from members who purchased their cars in '05...

I'll be the 1st. Purchased in july of '05. Paid 205..... Going rate at the time was 250+ they came down to 235 on the day and then I did some serious looking.. found a small dealer in Michigan with a blue wht striped fully option'd who was going to sell it to me for 195 with a handshake over the phone.. Call'd my dealer here... thank'd 'em and told 'em 40k was a big difference for me with an expecting child now in the equation... GM called me back that day and said 205....... with the car and color I wanted.... went in and wrote 'em a check... paid in full... figured if I was paying over msrp I wasn't going to let them get me with what's that called... interest???? What ever! Best money ever spent.... makes it easier to consider buying used ferraris or Lambos for 150K :cheers
on the waiting list since jan of 05 and have #1233.... the one my dad won is about 87 build numbers from mine and with the taxes he paid on his win of approx 47K... that puts my family in for 2 ford gt's for 252K which averages about 126K per vehicle..... So I win and the rest of you loooooooose.... hahahahahahahha..... thank you dad!!!!

Straight MSRP sticker, four option red/white before the $10K increase. This is 1 of only 55 '05s configured this way (thanks Quickdraw) Still silly expensive back then.
