Thought I would share the only downside to the titanium exhaust. Took out today for first drive and as you can see you will want to wipe off the inner exposed area of the tips after the drive. Looks so much better when it is clean!

You need to wrap the inside of the exhaust pipes with xpel and then ceramic coat the xpel.

Don't forget to wrap all the pores of the catalysts!

BTW, what's that Sharpie-looking mark on the outside of the left tip?

Also BTW, are you sure that isn't something burning off the pipes? I would expect that to be temporary, at least until you delete the catalysts.

Dr. Frank,
Based on MSRP, all NGTs are running rich. Ti exhaust even more so.

I believe that is the Akrapovic logo.
I'm only guessing that that system was outsourced.
They build great exhausts for bikes and cars.
Best,
Mark

That’s exactly what it is.

BTW, Akrapovic does not list an aftermarket NFGT exhaust on their web site...to save people from looking. At least that was my first thought.

Kevin - have you compared the sound difference between the Ti & standard exhausts?

Not yet. Need DBK, Andy or NJS to stop by with their GT's! :) We are running out of weather though here in MI.

Kevin,
Anything special that you used to cleanse the exhaust? Thanks for the heads up.

Could there be an Akrapovic off road version to come?

Actually the clean pic I have up there is before I drove it. I did wipe it afterwards but not all of it came off. Will have to work on it to see. I basically just used a microfiber and some of the mist/shine spray. It didn't take all of it off though.

#000 steel wool pads will clean it nicely. Every time you start a Turbo engine you will have the same problem. Turbo's and fuel injection run very fat when they are cold and the black residue is the result. The chrome exhaust tip on my 2014 Ecoboost F-150 irritates me constantly. As my mechanic says, " It's a no charge option".

Kevin. I am coming to your store tomorrow (weather permitting) for the 600 mile break in oil and filter change. It is scheduled with Ian and Joe. If you drive the redGT, we could do a comparison in the Milliken parking lot.
Then the blue painters tape comes off and prep for clear wrap

Akrapovic builds great exhaust, love the one on my daily beater. One word of advice, after 15tmls mine sounds a bit harsher, obviously parts of the damping inside vanished. But I guess that’s nothing to be unhappy about :biggrin

Turbos always quiet things downl
My Heffner car has no cats or mufflers and is relatively quiet to my ears.
