R tires for the wet, R tires for the road
You would need a lot more than cuts for proper water channelling. I don't believe Hoosier would be interested in making their R6 more road appealing as they try to dissuade everyone from using them on the road the way it is now. The Hoosiers are no more dangerous than the other R tires out there which are all more prone to hazard damage &, of course, wet conditions. Hoosier is more afraid of liability than the other makers. I've used many makes of R tires; including Hoosiers, on the road with no problem.
