fordgtkwt, given the extreme the mental scarring you have from accidentally wrecking your stock GT, I really don't think your the guy for GTSweden to be taking advice from man. If GTSweden is keen and comfortable with upgrades, especially an easy one that's more aesthetically about sound than any added HP, what on earth is there to fear from a muffler change:confused?!? fordgtkwt, you sound like you've got 'post traumatic GT stress disorder' going on there dude..:rolleyes

I agree. Many of us here have serious power upgrades...and are enjoying every minute of them. If the enhancements are installed and tuned by the right people, future issues will be mitigated.

@ Fordgtkwt

It's when you don't know the car is when you run into trouble. It happens when we don't respect the power that our cars put out. Many of us have had some type of mishap at one time or another, and it's usually due to doing things in our cars we shouldn't have done in the manner we did it. My Viper was victim to that once upon a time when she was new. It happens when our balls get too big and our brains too small. I read about your accident...and it happens to everyone - that's just the way it is. I feel your pain.

I did learn the hard way - like you did. Today, I don't take chances like I did years ago.

I remember 3 things that today, I will never forget...

1) Always "squeeze" the throttle. Never "mash" it. All that will do is get you into serious trouble, or dead.
2) Never, ever race in the streets, no matter what...that's a surefire recipe for disaster. Take it to the track if you want to play with others.
3) Learn what your car does and what it will do under ALL circumstances, before you put your foot in it. These high horsepower, lightweight supercars will bite when you aren't careful and you aren't paying attention. The only traction control these cars have are your foot and your reaction time.

Good luck with your repairs - hope it all works out for you!!

To be honest, of course I want as much power as possible, but for me the most important thing is to have a car that goes as smooth as possible when going down town and when going mad I want her to be a freaking bad ass sounding monster that eats small children to lunch and spitting huge flames ( like OzGT ) when shifting/of the throttle. I have done many laps on the Nurburgring with several different cars and power is not always the solution to a great lap time, but I am not planning to use this beauty on the track because the 550BHP was more then enough to eat the GT3s and F430s on the track. After my 7:26 lap at the Nurburgring I feel that I am done with track days, it's time to go loud and scary from now on!

Agree 110% !
We have maybe good summer days 50 days a year, the rest is rainy or mixed weather with sun/rain/sun/rain and snow 4-5 months/year and so on so we have learned the hard/wet/cold way how to use the throttle. During the winter time we practice drifting on snowy roads or on frozen lakes, so when the summer comes we are ready for going fast and controllable, BUT never on the streets or on a non highway road. It looks unprofessional to go fast down town. And if I did then I am pretty much ****ed as my GT is the only white one in Sweden :)
But we have loads of idiots here that never learns as well like one of my old school pals he have wrecked 3 cars on the same pole !!! WTF
And as FBA posted, good luck with the rebuild of your GT. Hope she gets back on the streets again soon ;)

Just follow EP's lead the car is always in the garage or when on the public roads, inside of a trailer.
LMFAO I have always laughed of your EP posts. :)

The long term value of a car is (almost) always better when left in original condition. If you plan of keeping the car for it’s investment potential then your priorities will be vastly different from those who intend to drive the car often. If you drive the car ofter and you want more (power, sound, speed, traction, bling, etc… ) then this is a great car to begin your journey with. I feel certain that GTSweden is aware of the risks associated with tweaking a car. Best advice I can give anyone, is be safe, have fun; do both as often as you can!

Thanks Mark! You are the man and you know that! Guys like you makes this dream of having a BAD ASS GT easier as you have all the info newbies like me need to add more power.
If Ford ever decide to make a new GT in the future, then you and your super pioneer brain should be in the team! If they doesn't want to do a electric one of course ;)

As far as your exhaust goes, I think the Stainless system may be what you're looking for. I have had mine for a few years now and am very satisfied both with the looks and sound.

Hi Paul!

It is very nice to hear that from a GT owner with the SW.
I have now ordered everything from Kendall at www.cooltechllc.com ( Superb Service and Support BTW ) and the Stainless Works is included in the kit :)

Dude of course we are all well aware your advice was 'friendly'. And ours was to you, that you sincerely aren't really the guy to be passing on 'friendly' advice to GTSweden given your unfort experience in your unmodified car. I think its you that need a little something for that stress you're still suffered, we are always calm on this forum generally speaking. I don't see how anyone took your advice as opposite here? You were giving your opinion on modding GT's from your perspective, which is one from of a guy who just had a rather traumatic experience in his unmodified GT. That's what I was saying. I didn't really think it was poss that you were concerned about putting an exhaust on frankly. However, you did post your comment directly after GTSweden had specifically asked about exhausts, so I added that aspect into my post.

Congrats GTSweden! Welcome to club 4.0! Keep us posted how the remote tuning works. As I mentioned previously I am very keen to know how that works as I'd def like to hook up my Tuner here with Torrie remotely. He can never seem to tune my car to stop one of the sensors detecting slight richness and triggering the engine light after 5 mins of driving, maybe that little niggle could be solved once and for all. I wouldn't mind Torrie casting eye over the tune we created locally as well to see how good it is against his own. It has been tweaked several times on the dyno, last time for the carbon fiber air intakes.
