On a side note, if you aren't too concerned with treadwear and your only concerned with performance, I would recommend the Michelin Sport Cup. This is the same tire that comes standard on the Viper ACR's and it is an amazing tire. Incredible grip and good performance on the street. However, they don't last long.

I was happy with the Bridgestones after a couple days at the track. They definitely want to get a bit more bent out of shape under extreme braking, but the grip is really good and they give you plenty of warning.

If you are going to go with the Bridgestone 345s on the rear, is there a set amount of negative camber that should added or reduced? I think I remember that some have noticed that the outside edge of the rear tires is off the ground. Any similar concern on the fronts?

I had the Bridgestones installed Saturday and am very happy. I went through this thread and didn't see what tire pressure people are running them at. I set them at 35. Anybody else using a different or better pressure? Thanks Frank

Has anyone tried the Michelin Pilot Sport 3's?

I'm thinking of trying the 255/40/18 on the front.

I just put the Bridgestones on. First impressions are pretty good. I'm sure they aren't as progressive at the limit as the Goodyears are, but they are quiet and they have dramatically more grip in a straight line. It was warm out today, but I could fully mat the throttle to the floor in second gear with the twin turbos. I'd say the car was set to lower 800's to the wheels and I didn't detect any noticeable wheelspin. It's amazing how fast cars suddenly become when they have grip.

I'd like to get Goodyear to just use the new tire compound they use for the GT500 and make them in our sizes. I think it's the Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar G2 or something. I know a lot of guys would like to retain the stock size and brand, and the switch in compound would be nothing but a plus. I'll see if I can't get Mr. Hameedi to hook us up with someone on that. I can't see why Goodyear wouldn't, but maybe I'm missing something.

Judging by the percentage of Ford GT drivers still running OEM, I would say there would be a market....small but a market. I am definitely interested.

They said that they have been back ordered on the Goodyears since May and as of August 26 Goodyear still does not have a production date.

Looks like even though I only need rears I will be changing to the Bridgestones.

They said that they have been back ordered on the Goodyears since May and as of August 26 Goodyear still does not have a production date.

Looks like even though I only need rears I will be changing to the B F Goodriches.

B F Goodriches??? They have tires that fit?

I just fitted Bridgestones today in anticipation of the 1200 mile drive to Rally V (followed by 500 miles to Pittsburgh and 1400 back to Houston). Got them from Tire Rack and took the wheels down to an NTB just by my house. They fitted them no problem and then asked me to bring the car down once I'd mounted them so they could take pictures!. I went with the usual 345/35 on the rear and 255/40 on front. Wow! these tires are waaay quieter than the Eagles and actually seem a lot smoother in terms of NVH - an annoying little intermittent buzz from the driver's door panel has disappeared. It will be interesting to see how they track at VIR - the two times I tracked my car with the Eagles they were really good, with lots of warning before letting go - hope the Potenzas are similar.

I'll be impressed if you get 'em to cut loose. I'm not sure what feedback I got from the Eagles but I can tell you I have more confidence on the track with the Bridgestones.

I put the Bridgestones on shortly after I got the car, now have over 3,000 miles on them. They're definitely quieter and look more aggressive (345's), I do like the feel of them!!!
