I've been using the 345 A6 for my track tire but it is to low. I guess I can use the 315 but I'd rather find the "perfect fit."

The 315 is the perfect fit. Same as the stock tire.

I've been really pleased with the bridgestones...

To all you RE050A Scuderia users, how many miles have you been able to get out of a set of rear tires?

My second set of rear Goodyears is at the wear bars at 4,000 miles. Should I be able to at least match that with the Bridgestones?

The road noise generated by the Goodyear is reason enough to get rid of them. The enhanced grip of the Scuderia is the icing on the cake, especially if your car is modified.

Got my car about a month ago, had 4100 miles on it and the OEM's were also down to the wear bars. After speaking to Rich at the GTG, he suggested that I go with the Bridgestones, they're pretty quiet (well hard to hear over the Ford Racing Exhaust's music), but with the T&A drop and the extra width of the Scuderias, the car looks just right!!!!:thumbsup
I have already put over a thousand miles on the new tires and really like them (so far)! I've put about 1700 miles on the car and that includes it being at the electronics toy store for 4 days, and the fact that I only use it on nice weekend days!!!

I sent off an e-mail question to Goodyear, stating that present stocks of the FGT tires were quite low, and the tires were quite old. Also, this was causing quite an increase in the asking prices for them. I was wondering if they were planning to make another run of the tires in the near future.

The following is the response I received:

Thank you for contacting our website.

The tires are on national backorder and there is no production date yet
scheduled.

She just the messenger. Goodyear is dropping the ball on this, or is making a business decision to give up the business. Paying more for old tires make no sense at all.

Nice.

Tirerack has the availability of the OEM rears listed as on Back Order. I guess I really don't have the option to stick with Goodyear.

I just put the Bridgestones on. First impressions are pretty good. I'm sure they aren't as progressive at the limit as the Goodyears are, but they are quiet and they have dramatically more grip in a straight line. It was warm out today, but I could fully mat the throttle to the floor in second gear with the twin turbos. I'd say the car was set to lower 800's to the wheels and I didn't detect any noticeable wheelspin. It's amazing how fast cars suddenly become when they have grip.

I'd like to get Goodyear to just use the new tire compound they use for the GT500 and make them in our sizes. I think it's the Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar G2 or something. I know a lot of guys would like to retain the stock size and brand, and the switch in compound would be nothing but a plus. I'll see if I can't get Mr. Hameedi to hook us up with someone on that. I can't see why Goodyear wouldn't, but maybe I'm missing something.

The new G2's are made only in 19 and 20 inch. Goodyear list them on their website. I've been hoping that Mr. LeBoef has been paying attention.

Yeah I know. I'm saying that I don't see a reason why they couldn't just make us the current Ford GT tire sizes in the new compound. I'm not an expert in tire production, but I assume they just assemble all the various components and then cure it, so the compound shouldn't really matter, should it?

That would be fantastic if GY would do a softer compound!!!
