Got my Performance S on Monday. Out and about all day yesterday. My eMPG was about 80. Used $2.60 of electricity in 50 miles, romping on it any chance I got. Ran several errands shopping and had at least 8 conversations with people about the car. One kid thought it was a Maser, another a Jag, another a Porsche. Car accelerates like a freight train. Edmunds got a 1 foot roll out of 0-60 of 4 flat and a standing start 4.3. Motor Trend did 3.9 standing. Not bad for 4700#s. Its been run up against an M5 and was quicker. I have 2 Ford GT's and had a Stradale and this car turns in and corners very similarly with the steering on sport mode. It's CG is 16" off the ground and has been compared to the GT in that regard. All the weight is in the floorboards with the battery pack. Electric motors make instant torque and with TC on you just plant it and go. Obviously the car has no top end like an ICE car but the power and acceleration is in the useable end from 0-100. The e-motor spins at 17K rpms at 125 mph where it is limited. My major maintenance cost is going to be tires, the way I drive! Ride quality is supple on the Michellin PS2's. Lots of rough roads in Fort Worth but driving around town was smooth and comfortable.
As for the interior, this is my first luxo sedan so my point of reference is limited vs. MB, Lexus, Jag, Infinity, etc. I sat in a Fisker once and it seemed cramped due to the center tunnel where the batteries reside. Can't remember much about the appointments on the Fisker, but the Tesla has alcantara and leather, nice stitching and tons of space. I have lacewood accents, but other wood trim and CF are available. The ambient lighting and touch screen are way cool. 5 people fit easily with no center tunnel. Massive storage space in the Frunk (front trunk) and the rear hatch.
I'm happy with my purchase so far. No electric glitches, etc.
