Shadowman's "Deep Massage" Therapy

I open this thread in the hopes that during the course of a project that is unfolding that it enlightens and brings significant benefit to all. I also want to openly make people aware of that which is going on behind closed doors in what is referred to as my "Area 51"

Now let me begin by stating that in my world even the "Best of the Best" need a deep massage from time to time.

With all of this having been shared one of the gals took ill several weeks ago while being thoroughly exercised on one of the tracks. I received a calland carefully listened to the chain of events that took place and then offered some guidance which in the end proved successful; at least for the moment. It was as the result of this that we all felt that a bullet had been dodged however;

A few weeks later while this gal was again being exercised in an extreme manner and again on a track a similar situation occurred only this time she let it be known that the bullet had not been dodged but rather we had simply sidestepped it for a moment in time.

This time when the call was received we elected to have her taken home before stretching her legs any further so we could look at the situation much closer. It was during this process that all secondary systems were inspected and their proper operation confirmed. We also did our best with a sealed heart to establish how she was feeling inside. Sadly she let it be known that at least one of her holes aka cylinders is very unhappy.

Now after methodically considering the options a decision was made and this is to pull her heart and take a look inside.

It is at this point that many will go UUUGH, OMG, and the list of descriptive words will run amuck however it is "VERY" important for me to make clear that all of the gals will need tending to from time to time and the only difference between that which needs to be tended to is how she is exercised. If you drag race there are certain components that will be stressed, when on a road race course there will be a differing set of components that are being stressed, and when you are simply driving your gal through traffic there will be yet another set of components that take most of the stress.

I refer to this process as the "cost of admission" and not in a demeaning or casual manner but rather as simply a mechanical statement of facts. This was the case when to a person we elected to purchase such a wonderful gal and yet the initial price of admission did not afford anyone a service free life with her and maybe better stated; impunity from secondary costs but rather this was the point at which the relationship and the associated cost began.

In any case I desire not to ramble but rather to set the stages for a long and healthy thread. I intend on posting pictures and sharing details as the project/process unfolds but even more importantly I wanted to let you folks know what is going on based on facts rather than find that the story is being created from behind the scenes based on speculation.

All the best

ROFL.... I am, I do, and it won't be. In fact I expect that the process as it unfolds will be exciting for those that are mechanically inclined and in particular "Motorheads" and simply interesting for others nevertheless I expect that all will garner something as the result of this thread.

The owner of this gal is certainly interested in making her happy but also even "Happier" if possible. This IMO is the sign of a great Papa

While I appreciate the literary metaphors, after re-reading the post I am still not smart enough to decipher what happened to the car at the various track outings. :frown Shadow', will your future posts be translated for the unwashed masses? :biggrin I will be watching this thread with interest. :pop

Not at the moment

The gal is tucked in tight and enjoying a bit of relaxation. I expect to have much more to add to this thread in a couple weeks.

I will keep all in the loop

Well it is finally time for the gal to go under the knife.

Here I have prepared the gal with protective materials so as not to cause any secondary damage such as scratches and also removed all of the secondary components hence the gals' transaxle is now ready to be lifted out.

Once out I will be pulling her heart and then begin the process of determining why she is not happy and also fully define the goal of the process.

FYI: I considered pulling her heart and transaxle as a single unit however since I have to separate the two pieces I determined it to be easier removing each piece separately.

...since you asked.

It is noted how well spoken Shadowman is when he shares with us. There is a friendliness to his missives that always have the correct phrasing and distinct purpose. The 'Takes Care' part of his signature seemed 'out of the ordinary/out of place' with his eloquence otherwise.

It is readily apparent the 'Care' Shadowman uses when not only pictorially documenting his work for us, but also the 'Care' he demonstrates with the taping off, bagging a part, protective blanket, etc. Some of us have even had the benefit of Shadowman talking/walking us through a particular fix for our ride and noted the passion, patience and time he has given so freely.

‘Taking’ proper 'Care' to do the job right.

... it 'Takes Care'.

Or hell, I could be all wet and the goomba just can't spell. :biggrin

You are a good man and this Forum is one of the best supported by what I refer to as an endless list of wonderful people.

Yes I do care and remain willing to assist whenever I can and in doing so encourage the same from others and their approach to any given situation.

Using protective tape as one such as example is a rather straightforward means to curb secondary damage however the words one uses to define the process can cause as much if not more damage.

Here is the latest update

First of all with the holidays it may seem as though the pace has slowed however the activities throughout the facility have remained one step below frantic as several gals have been tended too.

Having shared this here are a couple pictures of the gal's heart being removed. I will be placing it on a stand over the next few days and then the tear down and massaging will commence.

Yeah, two of those characteristically WEAK WHITE cars.

As a doctor you would know that the white ones have to run harder to keep up with the other colors and thus tend to have heart problems that need attention.

Hi Folks

From this end all comments are well received; even the jousting

Certainly it can be daunting to see a gal's heart removed and for many the mere thought of it is overwhelming and yet I suggest all to take a deep breath and remember that from a dream supported by a bucket of nuts, bolts, and washers these gals were erected and as with all thing in life they too need to be tended to.

Now having shared this the greater percentage of folks will never experience this process and yet if your gal requires such treatment let it not disturb you as it is simply a mechanical process through which the results will bring some of our fondest emotions back to life.

After all she is what we make her and not what she was made of.

Takes care
