Wow, I feel like the world has passed me by. I have been away from home (the forum) due to travel and vacation and so much to catch up on.

I am definitely in for Rally IV. I'll be bringing the Camilo/Heffner car. Can't wait to see how it runs in the 'mile.

Count me in!!!

Looking forward to checking it out. We had to leave early from the auction last year as my mum wasn't feeling well but had a moment to see it outside on the way out.

I think I've finally got the wife convinced to make the trip, and my buddy (the Austin SWAT member) would like to see us.

Count two more in please.

Considering it's one of my favorite cities I have to go (maybe do some house browsing while there...). :cheers

Are we going to break 100 by 5-31? I think we are at 98 now. Who is missing? I know of at least 2 locals that have not jumped in.

Of course we plan on attending, just don't know if we will be bringing the new car or not. We will have to see how much work we can set up. Maybe we can work enough a head of time (in AZ @ Chip's) and actually go to a few functions at the Rally this time.

The team from Copenhagen (Anders & Soeren) will be there. :biggrin:banana:willy

Any good ideas on car options would be appreciated. Probably fly in to Scottsdale directly from Europe and then home from Dallas.

See you
:cheers
Anders

We´ll be 3 from Copenhagen - my brother is joining us as well.

Just a note, after going to Austin and having some local members drag us around, we've made a couple location audibles. Honestly, Harris Hill is a beautiful and fun track, but it would be flat out scary for novices. Any track can result in expensive mishaps (understatement), but after taking some laps with the extreme elevation changes leading into turns, we've decided to switch to Texas World Speedway. Bigger, Faster, but not nearly as kooky in terms of loading and unloading the suspension into turns. PeakCompletions and I both thought, "disaster area" several times in the first few turns :lol Plus it makes for a cool photo op with a ton of GT's on a SuperSpeedway that many a famous racecar driver has been on! :biggrin Plus Rusty who runs the track is a hoot and it's a pretty entertaining drive getting out there.

Because of this change, we're gonna kick this thing off at TWS on Wednesday morning. We're gonna pack it all into 3 days. Wednesday, Thursday, Friday overload. We're all set with TWS, The Texas Mile, and some beautiful Hill Country Driving.

Registration and final details will be up in a day or two.

Which track layout is going to be used? The oval or road course?

The oval has been closed for years and will likely never be reconstructed.

EDIT: after visiting their website again, maybe that has changed. I know under previous ownership, about half of the large oval was no longer safe so it was closed for years and they never expected to rebuild it. Their website now makes me think either they have fixed it or will fix it....which is awesome! The mixed course is the most used config.

Combo of the two. You will come out through a heavily coned area onto the straight off the oval which is slightly banked and then enter back onto the flat area, again heavily coned. We ran it and it was way less scary than the other track. It's the 2.9 mile layout showed here.

Last year at Vegas, we were able to take a passenger out for some laps. Will we be able to do this again? My son desperately wants to be in a GT at speed.

Ol Rusty was just itching for us to open up the Challenger on the oval... even in that car which is very smooth the back straight (not part of the 2.9 Mile course we will be running) was VERY rough... :willy

The course as set up is very smooth and I think everyone will really enjoy it!!
