Looking forward to putting faces with all the names on the board!

I havent read the entire thread, so this idea may have already been offered up: Schedule the event to be the week after the Silver State Classic race which is usually run in the 3rd weekend in September. That way some of the hard core go fast guys can double their pleasure. Just a thought.

Either way, we are excited about this event and look forward to being there.

Also, Barrett-Jackson is doing their first Vegas event in October, 2008. Just another possibility. Its pretty much a situation of doing something no later than early May, 2008 or wait til late September, 2008 or its gonna be brutally hot.

I may be in too! looking forward to a locked in date!

I will be in attendance for my first National Rally. Looking forward to meeting everyone.

I e-mailed some of our Mark IV members the other day to get feedback on a Rally III idea. Based on the responses, I think we have a location.

The other day I talked to a forum member who has long been friends with Carroll Shelby. During a recent conversation, Carroll inquired how the group was and what had been going on in the community. He was very happy to be a part of Rally II in Newport Beach. After discussion, Carroll offered that if we ever ran an event in Las Vegas, he'd throw us a heck of a party at SAI.

There had been a lot of discussion about moving Rally III eastward after doing Newport Beach in 07. While I agree with this sentiment, given the unique opportunity available I think it is a no brainer to seize the day and take the chance to bring our Ford GT's to Las Vegas and Shelby Automotive in 2008. Texas, Florida, etc, will always be there. So will Las Vegas, but not with Carroll at the helm. Add in the weather, the variety of good local roads to travel, and this looks like another killer Ford GT Forum event.

I'm going to LV for Carroll's 85th(!) Birthday Bash on January 11th to meet with Amy Boylan and discuss planning for an event at their facility. That week, we should have dates and details of Ford GT Rally III - Las Vegas.

I hope this information sounds good.

:cheers

Ok, sounds great and I plan on trying to attend this as well...but stupid question...what about those of us who will trailer our cars? or am I the only one? How would the Wynn accomodate a Porsche Cayenne and a Pace American? I was wondering about a place off the strip such as Red Rock for this reason??? Not been to this new hotel but been to Red Rock for mountain biking and hiking...the wife goes shopping. Both Mandalay and Four Seasons are nice, cause near one edge of the strip...
I know, I know, I should just drive it...but not enough room for the wife and me + her luggage (barely enough room in our SUV for her luggage).

Vegas is just too easy to get to for me. Count us (Barry and Arlette) in.

I would like to attend, I'm in the Uk so wont be able to bring the GT.

Is it far from LV airport?????

Can I come without my car??

Thanks in advance

Patrick

This will all be taken care of when details are finalized. :cheers

Most all casinos can accept RV parking and trailers. The nice thing about The Wynn which is the headquarter casino for CARROLL SHELBY'S 85TH BIRTHDAY BASH is it is accross the street from one of the best shopping malls, and down the street from The Forum Shops at Cesars. Any wife-so-mistress-girlfriend worth her salt can match what we all have tied up in our garages in one good morning of shopping.

That's what I am worried about!!

Track day

Would there be any interest in a track day for us? I am a member of Club Spring Mountain and can probably arrange a day at the track if the scheduling works out.

I'm in. I'll start working on my +1.

DBTGT, Dr Frank does IH 40 sound good for a route? We can come up diagonally and meet in Albuquerque?
