Question on repairs and warranty

I am new to the FGT scene so I am not familiar with repairs and how often they might be beeded vs the car is almost bullet proof. I can get a 5 year bumper to bumper warranty for $16,000 with a cap of $50,000 Does this seem s like a "you need it" "you don't need it" "I would roll the dice"

Any help is appreciated.

Who has a warranty like that? Are you sure they know it is a GT and not a mustang? Better find out what they expense parts at, that is the problem.

The warranty was offered from the dealer I bought the car from. So they do know it is a FGT

You could easily get it back on some parts like headlights if they fail, but like all insurance policies, will you need it...

As heavily as some advertise I was tempted to call one to see what they had to say

Check to see if the GTGuys (or your GT potential repair shop) recognize/accept this specific warranty company.

Ok, insurance from the dealership but who is actually covering the deal? Some company must be issuing the coverage? Or brokering?

$16,000 for a 5-year warranty is pretty expensive, so that must account for it as a Ford GT. Be careful of aftermarket warranty companies. They frequently go tits-up when claims exceed reserves.

Looked at the details of the policy along with BBB reviews and decided it is a no go for me.

One of my independent shops said they would not honor/do business with at least one of these aftermarket warranty companies.

Customer comes in with warranty
Inspect car
needs trans
call warranty-on hold
they say call customer to get pull/inspect
call customer-get pull/inspect
call warranty, on hold-they'll have an inspector come look in a few days
inspector comes to look
bring car in to raise back up for inspection
hook up battery to see odometer
walk inspector through all bad parts and invoice
push vehicle back outside and wait for warranty co
warranty co gets back to us
they'll supply a used trans but don't cover exhaust gaskets to get it out, transfer-case seal that's been in for 150k miles that was disturbed removing driveshaft, extra labor to remove rusted exhaust bolts, antifreeze that was drained to get coolant pipe out of bell bolt way, sales tax(I'm sure they're exempt but won't send resale cert)
call customer and tell them-they complain to me about the extra charges
do the job-send everything to warranty co
wait for check
vs
inspect car
tell cust needs trans
pull trans
give customer options
pick option and put back together
customer pics vehicle up and pays
Yes, I don't accept extended warranties
