In an effort to make as many charts as possible, we can refine further. Barrett-Jackson seller fee per their website is 8%, and the on-site buyer premium is 10%. It's 12% for absentee bidders. Mecum seller fee is 10% on cars with reserve, 6% on cars without; buyer's premium is also 10% on-site, 12% absentee. We'll just make it easy and assume 10% on all. Bonhams buyer fee is 12% on the first $250,000, 10% on dollar amounts over; have to contact them for seller fees, so just assume 10%.

I was never good at math, so caveat emptor.

Congrats jc, beautiful car! I don't recognize the board name and will respect your privacy but did I see you at Chip's dinner Thursday?

I wasn’t at the auction unfortunately, a friend of mine was bidding on my behalf. I do feel a little bad about that, because I didn’t realize they were going to shove TV cameras in his face for this lot.

I appreciate all of the kind words in this forum, I’m excited to be the new caretaker of this special FGT!

As usual, A line or 2 by the author, that proves, that their subject matter is not in their top level of expertise.

"Ford made about 4,000 of them and buyers were not preselected. Even those Ford GTs, though, are still worth at least what they cost when new -- if not somewhat more, according to the Hagerty collector car pricing guide. "

I think there a few in this thread that would almost "kill" to find a GT for anywhere close to original MSRP.

Sad. Poor basic math skills. Since when does $295,000 = $155,000? Of course, still only matters if you're selling...

Yeah, how many would I have to almost kill (allegedly)? I hear this is actually the leaked plot of John Wick 4

That's brutal! Imagine buying a Heritage with 2 miles on the odo. If you decide to make a driver out of it, you'll loose $150k after you rack up a couple thousand miles of "pure visceral rapture".

Meh, who am I kidding, why would you even wanna drive a Heritage with only 2 original miles. After all, it only has 2 miles on the odo once in it's life :ROFLMAO:

Probably best to put it in a museum and just look at it

Financially would be better for the new owner to buy a high mileage driver for said "pure visceral rapture" and keep the odo on the 2-mile Heritage pegged at 2. Would still be a damn shame to keep the Heritage undriven like the dozen F40s tragically captured and decaying from neglect in the Sultan of Brunei's stable.

More numbers:

I think RM buyer fee is 12% up to $250K, then 10% over that.
I think the seller fee is negotiable, but I'll assume it's 10%.
In that case.......

Keith Crain 415 mile blue/white
Hammer $345,000
Buyer paid $384,500
Seller received $310,500 (estimate, assuming 10% seller fee)
RM received $74,000 (estimate, assuming 10% seller fee)

2 mile Heritage
Hammer $480,000
Buyer paid $533,000
Seller received $432,000 (estimate, assuming 10% seller fee)
RM received $101,000 (estimate, assuming 10% seller fee)

FYI RM Palm Beach has bagged the in person auction next weekend (~March 20th), in favor of on line only. There is a red, at least supposed to be offered (who knows if it will be pulled or what)

Right on the price formula/curve.

Not really considering the CarFax blemish (not explained very well IMO) and the $5k to BAT. And the formula includes the optional wheels....

I'm hoping to get enough to buy a new Bronco and a GT500.

Good luck with that, in "today's" conditions.
