...As for the Ferrari guys saying the FGT is just a "Ford". It doesn't work. Sorry. Because of the GTs special status in history and the automotive pantheoon its not just a Ford its "The Ford GT" just as the original was the "Ford GT40"....
:frown

They're right - "It's just a Ford. It's the Ford that beat Ferrari !!"

:thumbsup :beer2: :beer2: :thumbsup

Wow......take a few days away for R & R and the long awaitied review comes in. :lol

As always great reading. :thumbsup :cheers

Just had a little time to read all the responses to the review. Thought I would add .02. The GTR is homely, and like I have said before I like the last generation Skyline for looks. However if you take away the exterior and judge strictly by the cockpit experience I think that the GTR sounds like a fun car to play around with for a bit. Nothing can replace the GT....it is stunning and just too damn fun. And I like the fact that it takes some skill to drive/get the best out of it. That said the more I hear about the cockpit/driving experience of the GTR it sounds fun. It just will be visually.....uh......unsatisfying forever.

On the MB front. I have several friends who have said that Mercedes quality improved over the last 3-4 years once the Chrysler situation was resolved. Is that accurate? I looked at an 06 SL65 a couple weeks ago and really liked it. Now you guys have scared me about purchasing one. :lol

For those of you who would care to know; I sold the GT-R to a private party some time ago. All the fancy analysis aside, perhaps the most telling evidence of my feelings about the car is the fact that I kept it for a relatively short time.

Come to think of it, the GT as shared the garage with some pretty boss cars. They are all gone, but the the GT is still here. Aint no car like the GT. :thumbsup

Ok so I'm a newbie here, but have driven Fords since I was old enough to drive in 1970.

Some people will never relate or feel the pride of driving an AMERICAN LEGEND like most of us.

I couldn't care less about the opinion of others who want to bash and ignore what kind of machine the GT is because they are foreign car SNOBS.

It shows ignorance on their part not to acknowledge the car for what it IS.
I can appreciate and respect all cars and so should they.

I am so proud to own a GT, and can't imagine being happier knowing I'm driving a piece
of classic American auto history.

I have loved Ford cars all my life, and NOBODY can sour my feelings about the GT.

Just finished a ride in the GT with my daughter and I couldn't agree more!:thumbsup
