Headed South to Sonoma on Friday.
Easy drive @ 812 miles to Sonoma. Only one turn to make - hope I don't miss it! (For you Ralphie).
Spent Saturday at the track in Portland with my Vintage racing friends.
Sunday stopped in Redding and took my nephew Tim to great lunch. Followed by 50 miles of twisties in the local hills (Mountains to you flatlanders) in the GT. Collected a few more bug splatters and straw bits in the grill.
Stayed the night in Corning. P.S. Anyone want oil oil call me before 9 a.m.
Leaving Corning this morning. Due west to find more twists and fun things to see.
Sonoma by lunch time.
See you early birds soon.

Left Houston on Wednesday, arrived LA Thursday evening after two days of 800 miles each. Got stopped once (only a warning) and ran at 90 across the desert, averaging 21mpg, not bad for a pulley and tune car. Spent a few days in LA before heading uo US1 to Carmel, where we currently are, for a couple of days before Sonoma tomorrow. So far we're 2K+ miles for the trip. This 91 octane gas is horrible, lots of pinging and rattling whenever I stomp on it!
I'm now telling everyone that I'm driving a museum piece - the Petersen has a tungston no-stripe on display in its collection!

#34 is in the Rally hotel garage waiting for me. I'm still in Scottsdale till 11 am tomorrow. It's an 800 mile drive from here. See you at the bar tomorrow afternoon. Can't wait to get there.

Made it to Lake Tahoe, 576 miles today and yes we ran into rain. Trip was easy as I had driving support this time. Meeting Ralphie for early lunch tomorrow and will follow him into Sonoma. Expect to be in around three, rocketman you are buying the first round after all your verbal abuse. Can’t wait to see everyone.
Final post for me for this "On the road to Rally 8" thread. We are in Sonoma. Two wonderful winery visits today (thanks to Indy GT and Ed Sims), with lots of great driving miles through the wine country. These pics are all from Benziger Winery, where we were entertained and educated in Biodynamic viticulture by Cathy Benziger.

I don't......I LOVE it! I am just glad I didn't go with just a cat delete or the LTH/FRPP muffler options. Don't think it would have been enough 'ooomph' for me. Ok, time to hit the hotel bar.....
