Hmm, that makes me wonder: Once cars are autonomous, will people care what they look like anymore? I guess I could see a transitional period where owners still do care, but once cars reliably drive you around to where you're not even looking out the window anymore, and neither is anybody else, it seems like the beauty of cars will matter less and less could be a gray box, and nobody will care? ... jeez, hope I'm wrong.

Why own a self-driver? Just order a nondescript vehicle on your phone to pick you up like a taxi. No more worries about insurance, car payments, finding parking, maintenance, garage space, sleeping while driving, etc., etc.
