Hello everyone. I am the proud owner of a 2006 Ford GT, Tungsten Gray, four option car with 6900 miles. I purchased it about eight weeks ago and absolutely love it. After meeting Brian (stormcat) at the September Palm Breach Cars and Coffee, I was able to get many of my questions answered. I can't think Brian enough for the many text and phone calls since that meeting.
I live in South Alabama near the gulf coast which is a long way from a Ford GT specialist as far as I am aware. One thing I love about this car is that with the help of others and information on this forum, I am able to work on it myself. A friend, who is a performance shop owner, and I installed the Heffner exhaust, pulley, and tune last week. I felt like I took one hundred bolts and parts off the car to remove that muffler but It wasn't really too bad in retrospect. The enjoyment of the car multiplied several times after that. The sound alone creates so much engagement. I then followed the advise provided on this forum and changed the tires to the bridgestones.
I am proud to be a Ford GT owner. While I absolutely love my Porsche GT3 Touring, the Ford has become the most fun to drive. It is just a very special car. I took it over to Pensacola Cars and Coffee this past weekend and it was a huge it. This coming weekend it will go on the dyno at a local shop event. I am curious to see how that turns out. I have floor mats and the aluminum seat rings on order.
I look forward to continuing to drive and enjoy my GT.
