I wouldn't want to make any bets on it. The mods are done but the pick up by the transporter has not yet been scheduled. When I signed up they told me a minimum of two weeks from the date, which would be the 24th, but so far I haven't heard even a window date range from them. I think transporters are running like airlines - overbooking and dropping trucks to fill the available trucks.
Now they're talking snow on Tuesday. The driving season is getting very short.

It will get here when it get's here right. I have blocked off the entire weekend to go drive the 40 a few hundred miles. Might come by your place and up the canyon if you want to hear what a real GT40 sounds like hehe. Let me know.
Sounds like a deal. I'd like to ride in it anyway just to compare to both the Cobra and the FGT. You've got my home email and phone. Let me know.
Which weekend? It will be here probably on Wednesday, maybe Tuesday. Weather permitting, next Saturday (29th) for a dual run? The 10-day looks pretty good except for possible snow on Tuesday.
We've got some errands to run tomorrow morning but the afternoon should be OK. Let me know.
What plate? We get up to 7 characters (space is allowed, as is "-"). From a list I got a while ago, the usual suspects like FORDGT are taken. We can't use 0 (zero) but "o" is ok.
Somehow I think "o6FRDGT" might work. But I think I'm going to try for "GULF GT" as first choice. GOZFAST or GOZFSTR for 2nd, don't have a 3rd yet.
I like NOTA4RE and it doesn't seem to be taken but I think there is some thing sacred about that
Any other suggestions? I want to send in the form in a day or so...

How about "POSER" or "WNAB40"? Kidding Tony lol. Can't wait to see it! How are you finding out what's available? I have to get my plates here in a couple weeks. Not sure if they will allow vanity plates with the antique plates.
Yes, you can get vanity collector plates. I'm assuming yours will be registered as a '6x just like my Cobra. Just fill out the form properly. I have a list from a couple of years ago that listed all the taken vanity plates. It's old, but the obvious ones were taken years ago anyway (like FORD GT) so it's a starting point.
As explained off line the car is on the van but the driver doesn't expect to deliver until maybe Friday, probably Saturday, maybe Sunday. He'll know more as the week passes. The same driver will be taking the Cobra to California. The good thing about the later week is that whatever snow we do get should be gone by then. For the rest, the snow will put the canyon road trip at risk since they will probably put sand down and neither of us want to drive in that stuff. If so it'll have to wait til spring.

I was gonna do "GT 4D". That way it's doubly read as "GT Ford", or "GT Forty". Sort of. In the end I decided not to do anything...... For your choices, I like Gulf GT. That's the best one I think, but that one is taken here in Alberta, so it was a no go for me.
