I was looking at DBK's white/blue Ford GT in the Autozone parking lot one night during the Woodward dream cruise. Next thing I know someone has hit the remote to turn on the interior lights so I could see better. Then he comes over, opens the door and asks me if I would like to sit in it. Talks to me about the cars for a good while and even started the engine so I could hear the aftermarket exhaust. (What kind did you say that was? I thought it sounded great). Not many people would go so far out of their way to be nice, especially when Woodward was overrun with people and I had to be the thousandth person to look at the car.
At any rate, I've decided to buy a GT. Just need to figure out whether I go with black/silver (my favorite at the moment), blue/white or white/blue. My only hesitation on the black is that its hard to keep clean and I hope to drive the car alot. Do people find that the blue still looks good when its not perfectly clean?
Thanks again!
Jeff

Damn, Dave is just planting seeds everywhere he goes. :biggrin

I have not seen the blue in person, but I hear it is really nice.
White/Blue was the color scheme of my old GT, but I will probably go Black next time. You can't go wrong in any color. Good luck with the purchase! :thumbsup

I have a friend with a blue with white stripes GT, it isn't always clean and looks great all the time. If I was getting a second, it would be blue with white.

I'm going as far to Powder Coat the Valve Covers from FoMoCo Blue to Blk so the car is truly Two Tone!

Shadowman showed me the benefit, look or trick - being the "Red Head" engine builder!

BTW - SYCO GT - Great Pic!

Your black looks great, probably because it is reflecting a White/Blue. :wink:biggrin

Washing a black car only gives you more reasons to 'stroke' that bad boy more often.

AH-HAAAAAAA!!!!!!!
I knowed it! I just KNOWED IT!
That 'splains why you bought whut you bought! Yuh diddunt never see'd th' best color (blue/white) B4U bought yours!!
And all this time I thought yew were just a bad judge of color!

Hey, JAS - 'just blowin' smoke! Like ROC says, you can't really go wrong no matter which color you buy. 'Best thing to do would be to see whatever colors you think you'd want IN PERSON if you can. Pictures don't really reflect the looks very well compared to "LIVE".

'Best of luck, sir!:thumbsup

Good Stuff!!

If you are going to take care of it yourself be certain once they are removed to then remove the oil baffles from the under side prior to blasting them prior to powder coating. there are 30 or so screws; they are easy to remove and then when reinstalled use some "red" LockTite on each and every one and allow them to go back in as they were removed; meaning the thread path as they are self cutting screws.

All the best....... and she will look awesome

Jas, remember... most of us cringed at the heritage when we first saw it.... and now we wished we had one.... check out some of the pics where the heritage is all done up right to its perspective era..... you just might want to go that route.... either way... good luck with your purchase :cheers

Where do I find one? Every Heritage looks like the rest as far as I can recall. And you guys are right. They all look great!
Does anyone know if a group gets together in South Florida? It would be nice to see them all at the same time.
And to hear some of the different exhausts. I'm big on sound, but I'll bet they all sound great!

I noticed nobody addressed the radioactive question of whether there are quality or reliablity differences between early and late 2005s or 2006s. I've never seen a chat board with so many diplomats! Any one care to stick their neck out?
And I've even more impressed that I haven't come across the village idiot yet. Visiting most discussion boards leaves me thinking a lot of towns must be missing theirs. :)

They had some bugs in the '05. They fixed most of them before they hit 500 on the production line.

Does that mean my neck is stuck out or I am the village idiot... no answer necessary.

There are 1,000 threads on this subject here on the 'Forum, JAS, but in a nutshell, no, there are no real diffs. There were a couple issues with the "early" cars - WHICH WERE ADDRESSED on said cars - but all cars afterward had the updates. There are some MINOR 'cosmetic' diffs we've found between the '05's and '06's which don't amount to diddly (like the fact some of the '05's had "grilles" for instance, or the fact there's a diff in the texture of the 'glass on the underside of the "boot" ...you know, terribly important stuff like that).

Yes, a group of us do get together on occasion in South Florida. As I recall we had all the colors together except yellow at the Tower Shoppes car event one Friday night last winter.

As for a Heritage "done up right", check out my sig photo for my interpretation of same.

Good luck with your search. Oh, and if you come across a yellow one that is for sale please let me know.

Glad you decided to get the car! Letting people check the car out is one of the fun things about owning it; it's not a china doll! As far as colors go, the Midnight Blue is by far the most spectacular color in the right light. It's a very normal blue until the sun is out, at which point it just explodes. If I lived in a state without perpetual road construction, I'd have picked it.

The 05's and 06's aren't all that different. An 05 over VIN #500 won't have the shiny control arms or the speedi-sleeve on the crank. I don't think either is a big deal, and the shiny control arms actually look better. The later cars do have a different door latch and make a much more pleasing "thwump" when the door shuts. Otherwise, it's pretty much like any other handbuilt car where visual inspection will tell you how good the team was that built it.

Good luck in the search :cheers
