I am trying to find a combo for my GT. I need to hear from you guys on size, offset, and width. I am thinking 22" in the rear and 20" in the front. I am going to lower the car slightly with the T&As. The design I am looking at can go up to a 4" lip, but I am thinking 3" would be max that I want to go.

I know going this big cuts my tire options down to almost nothing, so would I be better off going with a smaller wheel?

Shelby, what width do you suggest? The reason I was thinking the 22/20 was because I love the look of Rays black GT. But, I think the 20/20 is going to be more practical.

You will never find the rear tires for the 22s that you would need for that car. Mine are 20x12 rear. I think the fronts are 20x10 or 20x9.5...

I've looked into 18's for the rear - problem is wheels wide enough with the correct offset for our rear geometry. Couldn't really find anything without making a special, which is quite a lot of mullah...

18" wheel are a very tight fit on the rear. The rear sway bar link is very close to rubbing the rim depending on the design.

I prefer staggered diameters. You get more sidewall on the fronts, and in some cases deep rear wheels can create the illusion of being smaller in diameter than they actually are.

I agree on the sidewall issue. I like have a decent amount of sidewall both for ride smoothness and impact absorbtion. Our roads are not good up here and I have damaged expensive HRE wheels on another car with too little sidewall.

But.. I do prefer the deep set wheel like the rears on JayGT's car. I know the latest trend is to keep all the action (spokes, hat, whatever you want to call them) out on the outside of the wheels. Maybe it is just nostalgic for me but I always loved the "deep Dish" wheels (in some form of silver color :biggrin)

10" wide in front, 13" in rear with a fairly deep lip and you get to run the awesome Bridgestone tire combination 265 in front and 345 in the rear.

And just for reference the GT on the right (JKR's GT) is running 19x9 and 20x13 rear, Also with a 4" lip and PS2's.
