Latest update moved Ike a tad south. Keep you fingers crossed.

That sure looks like my back yard here in Naples!

Well I too have been stressed out for days now! Right now it is looking much better. Past experiences tell me we are not out of the woods yet. I went through Andrew (ground zero) and folks the only way to describe these powerful storms is to say that they are tornados that last for hours. They are horrific.

The guys up north will be feeling Hanna real soon. Stay safe.
11pm update should be here shortly.

Growing up in the Midwest I can tell ya Tornado's last ~ 6- 10 min. Living now in NC Hurricanes last 20 hr's! They are like a bad toothache compared to a tornado where one punch will knock the tooth out!

BTW - Hanna is Ike's Byatchhhh

Careful down there Manny!

Stormcat, first I hope you and everyone else will be safe & sound. Then, I wish you well in getting out and making the Rally.

Hey Many,
If you need someone to pick fruit from the trees or up off the ground you know where to find me.. Just don't put me in the Fig tree section !! :biggrin

Well, things are looking up. The projected path has moved south and west. Let's hope this trend continues.

Yea looks better for Florida!!

Cuba may get a major rocking, and then it's back into the gulf. That New Orleans seems to be jinxed.

Hanna's gone! - what a bitch being all talk - no action, thank god! She
left 6"+ rain in 12 hr's... Winds nothing more than a fall day 30-40
Mph. She's on the way as a depression now up to pe2unia, Bernie and PeteS....

Gordo should be OK as Hanna hit ~200 mi north and crossed land at Wilmington NC.

Good luck down south Fla. friends but from what the trend is showing you might get grazed by Ike but poor New Orleans as it appears to be a magnet this year.

Hope you can get out and miss Ike when you round New Orleans Stormcat. Watch out for the evacuation traffic.

The 11 am update continues to show improvement. Things are looking good.:thumbsup

Phoenix and Las Vegas here I come! :banana:banana

Thanks for the update Chris. Looking a lot better today for us today, but still a little nervous. Not quiet as many cars in line at the gas stations today as there was Yesterday. Hope you and Brian get to make it out to Vegas.

we all have our fingers crossed and prayers have been said.

Well, looks great for us. But, two of my uncles which I have had the pleasure to meet in the last few years are on ground zero. Some of you know that I was born in Cuba, and I have most of my family over there. As I have gotten to know them recently, I have realized how THICK blood is. It has been quite an interesting experience as I am an only child and the first that was fortunate to be out of that mess (when I say mess I put it lightly). My dad has tried to call all day and he has been unable to reach them. We will be calling again in an hour.

My uncle resides in Puerto Padre. It is a beautiful beach town. Just north of Holguin.

Click on the map and you will see how close to home.

I didn't know you were from Cuba Manny! I hope everyone in your family gets through Ike with minimal damage. Will send out a little prayer for you guys.

MJ

Thanks Mj.

At this point I am fairly positive that my family will experience this storm. The structures there leave a lot to be desired. We have now been able to notify them, and hopefully they will head to the mountains were the rest of us are from ( did I tell you guys I'm a hillbilly).

Manny-- not a Cuban/American-- just a good o'l American.

Hey Manny,,
We'll miss you at the Rally Buddy .. Our thoughts will be with your Family..

Thanks- I'm still up.
They are hopefully on their way inland.
