Except for organized drives, only one time when a red one pulled into a lane beside me. Gotta admit, when you're not expecting it, that's pretty cool. Spotted a few others too, but not when I've been in my GT.

Never while driving to work or for fun, never while riding...shotgun.
Never while standing along the road, never in fact in this, or any, area code.
Never while driving through another city, never while parked and gettin' busy.
Never parked along the street, only in pictures while perched on a toilet seat.

Never have I gazed upon a GT, until last Christmas there was one under the tree. (actually Dec. 30)

:wink

HEY! That's not too bad!!! :thumbsup:thumbsup

(Uuuuh, but, how would one "get busy" in a FGT...unless he were a member of Circ-de-sole [or however it's spelled]?)

Once was driving down a semi quiet road in town, and someone passed me going the other direction in a GT.
We both circled back and met. Turns out he lived about 20 min from me and was a great guy. Did some cruises together after that.
Unfortunately, he sold his car later on.

Im really not surprised, in the 5 years Ive had mine its happened only once and thats in houston, where I believe we have a good number of owners, and that was a time when I used to drive mine often, (even in the rain:)) I still drive it a bit but not as much as before, but still.... now for the next question where is the most populated ford GT region? given a 100 mile radius?

^^^ Besides Shelby's showroom you mean? LOL

There's at least 16 in my neck of the woods. Including this new twin-charged (TTSC) bad boy just arrived in town (Ray's old car).

We have an email list of about 40 names in the greater DC metro area. Like the registry, not sure how current it is, but there are a bunch...most of which apparently don't come out to play. One guy in Virginia had one in each color, but I believe he sold all or most. The previous owner of my car (Chicago area) has one in each color. I got his red/white stripe with 3k miles because he replaced it with another red/white stripe with almost no miles.

Chandler,Arizona.
Seeing another GT unexpectedly here in the Phoenix area has happened a couple times, but none while we were in a GT. One time it was just around the corner from my house; I zipped around and started following it - he lived just a few blocks over. His name was Randall. He came out to a GT "event" and AZGT's, but I haven't seen him in years. Another time one pulled up beside me at a stop light when I was in a Smart car. I actually rolled down the window and yelled out to him that I had one, too. Heritage colors. Then the light turned green and he took off. I can only imagine what he was thinking.

Well, I guess Detroit really is the place to be if you want to see and be seen driving a GT. I can't even put a number on it, but I can think of over a dozen people I know in the area I've seen driving their cars just out and about, and many more people I don't know.

We should start a similar list for the central Florida owners. This will help us get enough owners together to bring the GT Guys to town as needed and to arrange get togethers.

Ray Hofman's garage (or hangar, or wherever he keeps all his cars). I think that's in Midland, TX.

Paul, I think we could get enough interest to bring the GT Guys here.

Definitely Southern California. Last year when I shipped hundreds and hundreds of FGT calendars, I noticed practically every other one was on it's way to California. Rally attendance always highest from California. Big chunk in Houston-Dallas as well. Warm weather and high income metro areas always do it. Big concentration in Detroit because of Ford execs, dealers and suppliers to FGT program.

Yes, that's where I live. Id say there are roughly 35 to 40 in a 20 mile radius. Population is probably 280,000 which would include Odessa/Midland area.

Only three in Lafayette, LA. I own two of them and I can't even get my buddy with the third to get his out very much. So unless I take one out and one of my sons take the other out without permission...never.

When I bought my car from Marv, I asked him how many he's sold to local buyers. I think he told me around 15 or so. Pretty surprising considering the demographics of the city. I've corresponded with two of those owners who are also forum members here, but I haven't met either in person or their cars.

I was at a car show about 90 miles north of me over the past weekend. Stumbled upon a black/silver stripe GT and chatted with the owner. Turns out he's a local that bought his car brand new in 2006 from a dealer in town. Told me it was the first time in 3 (yes, THREE!) years that the car has seen daylight. 450 miles on the odometer. He hadn't driven the car in so long, he forgot how to pop the fuel filler lid and had to consult the owners manual:facepalm: Really nice older gentleman apparently with several other vehicles. While he obviously appreciated the car, he just didn't have the 'passion' for it like many here. Said that this would probably be the last time I'd ever see the car as it was destined for another prolonged hibernation:thumbsdow
