Is anyone surprised? There are only 4000 of these that exist worldwide. The chances of seeing one nearby are very low. There are some regional concentrations, including a handful around my area, but I never see them because we simply don't have our cars out at the same time. There are a three of us (mikey, jim, me) that take a spirited drive every once in a while (none this year yet, since Mike's car just finished his paint job) and the road we went on got repaved.
I think it is special to see another one in the wild. If I saw one while driving mine I'd try to meet. If I see one while not driving mine my cell phone pic will be in front.
