How many GT's are out there?

I am looking for the exact number of GT's created. I own #1737 and continue to hear numbers from 4000+ to 2500 a year for 05, 06 and 07. What is the real number?

You will find this doc useful and it is on other threads within this forum. It not only shows total counts, but colors and options for both 2005 and 2006.

Use the "search" function on this forum and you guys will find an amazing amount of information from this spectacular group of owners and original Ford Team Members.

If you send for a "certificate" from Ford, you will get an even further breakdown on the production of your car. (At least, they sent me one).

Gentlemen,

#s in the above chart are incorrect. Over 2000 cars were built in 2006 and the correct total for both years combined is 4038 cars. Perhaps they don't include the 101 European export cars or the Canadian export cars. Or ????

A lot of GTs have been and continue to be shipped out of the country. And they are still being totaled in accidents at the rate of about 1 a week.

It's a pretty safe bet that there are fewer than 3000 undamaged/unrepaired GTs left in the US.

Also, regarding that doc, it says 0% for 2005 Black top and side stripe delete...not the case as mine is a factory delete on both stripes.

he was the man for details besides Cobrar. I do know from him my car is only one of 12 being 2005 black, w/silver stripes & decklid accent, mac, lightweight wheels, black calipers made like that. :cheers :banana :banana

Sorry about that guys (and Chip). I know I got that .gif from another thread. Although I don't remember the source? We'll have to see if we can get as accurate one as possible. I know most of this was hand-kept by build team management.

I would say that 3000 with NO STORIES is a higher than expected number.

Europe only had imported 101 of the Ford GT.

I believe that Rich is indicating GT retail sales in calendar year 2007 (could be either 2005 or 2006 models). His production number for 2007 is 0.

I believe that is correct. I purchased my new 2005 GT in February, 2007, so it would be listed as a 2007 sale, even though it was delivered to the dealer in September, 2005, and thus would have been included in the 2005 production numbers.
