I am considering an Exhaust system. My brother bought the FRPP with the muffler so I can go for a ride in that and then compare it to one without muffler if there is a GT owner in Florida that has the no muffler version please let me know if you would let me hear your car in person, I'm in Naples.

I know there are other systems, but "IF" I buy one I want it to be FORD. I also know people say it's TOO LOUD but I would like to make the decision for myself.

Thanks
Tony

Listen to it from the outside as well as the inside.

Loud, is standing under a 747 when its about to take off. The frrp makes that, seem like a lullaby.:willy :cheers

If people don't get out of your way, then your car is not loud enough.

It is LOUD! I actually love the way it sounds, and that was my first choice. You can literally hear it a block away and it still sounds like it is next to you.:biggrin Nota4re has one, and it is freakin wicked!

I think the "LeMans Race Version" is loud to begin with by the paint job and big number on the side...

The exhaust should match the looks :thumbsup

super loud

A Heritage at our local track has this setup. You literally have to put your hands over your ears when he blasts by. Interestingly, it sounds like a top fueler but doesn't add anymore go than stock.

Tony,

Your idea to go out for a ride in one with the FRPP headers and without a muffler is, IMHO, a wise thing to do.

It is VERY LOUD.

It may be fine for the occational short ride or drive and would be very nice for a track day or event; but if you get out and drive any distances [say 100 + miles at at time], it may be too much on an extended basis.

Get it up to around 2,000 rpm and hold it there for a while and see if it is acceptable to you

This does not make sense... Headers, no cats and no muffler adds zero horsepower?

Thanks Fred,

That is why I want to hear one...I'll be at the Concorso in CA next month, I wonder if a member there has one?

My GT driving is only short trips and car shows.

Correct. It will not add horsepower unless you go with a bigger blower. The stock header is designed very well. Even with a bigger blower or Turbo setup, you will only get 20 more horsepower at the most. You will however, get lower temps, which is what helps with the horsepower.

Hell Fred, just turn down your hearing aid!!:rofl

Tony, go for it. I've been through two exhausts just trying to get enough noise out of this thing. I'm semi-satisfied with the x-pipe but if I had to do it over, I'd go for the full FRPP. If you take a trip you can wear earplugs.:biggrin

I've never seen dyno results but on the track their neck to neck (both track and strip) but just listening you would swear loud one is going twice the speed!

I vote for the Stainless Works system with the small metal bed cats

The system sounds BADASS and yet she is able to be run through the center of town without cause for concern....... unless you put the hammer down and then all bets are off.

Good luck with your decission

While you're in the exploring stage, think about ceramic coating the system.
