I'm Airborne as well. It is that bad.

Best Regards,
Waldo

Thanks Waldo!

I don't care about the MC. I have it at home so I dont care about it in my car, at least not the GT. Most of the cars I am considering have all four options. Once I get one, I will drive it for a few days and go from there.
Strike Hold!

Rocky,

If you get a chance, please email me at kpond@sbcglobal.net as I would be happy to share some insight on mods for the GT. Regards, Kendall.

Keep listing please and if it is not too much trouble, links would be helpful.
You guys are wearing out my fingers! However, I love it!

Nothing regarding the brakes, interesting.

Rocky

Re: brakes - stock is very good. Pads alittle soft and messy.

Stormcat, Shadowman, have done "big" brake changes, give them a call.

Stillen offers a brake upgrade also. If they have any left, a 3.9 crown gear in the differential makes driving the GT quite a bit more enjoyable.

With you larger wheels there are options that are availiable.

And not knowing your driving background (other than your brieft mention of past fleet vehicles) a h.p. driving school would be a great investment.
Followed up with as many track days as you can schedule.

Most of all drive it often. Radio off, windows down. Great music from the back end!

Jeff, we need to discuss your diet. :wink

Transaxle cooler, at least an x-pipe, short shift kit ... paint protection film, add reinforcement to radiator hoses, accufab reinforcement for intake and throttle body.. good floor mats.

Past that is it up to your tastes. once you start tinkering with a GT you can't seem to stop nor will you really want to drive anything else. Great performance, great bang for the buck and always a smile inducer.

Jeff, thanks!

I raced open wheel F-V in high school along with moto-cross. I have been to a couple of driving schools but none that I would mention. To me driving/racing is a combination of death wish & chicken factor. That probably sounds crazy just like jumping out of an airplane with a chute. People can buy drugs, but you cannot buy adrenaline!
Not to worry, they will both be driven every week with the windows down and the orchestra playing.

Off the mark.

Rocky,

I enjoyed talking to you on the phone today. Normally the members of this forum are on point with solid advice. In this particular thread however, they have all missed the mark as regards the most important first aftermarket purchase for a serious Ford GT owner. So let me remedy that.

The first stop on the way to Ford GT nirvana will be your purchase of a Mark IV Lifetime Membership to the Ford GT Forum. As a lifetime member you will be able to access sections of the Forum unavailable to anyone else, private message and communications privileges, voting rights, and input on important Forum matters.

Since the age of 10 I have dreamed about owning a Ford GT40 someday. The modern reincarnation has exceeded all of my expectations. But the greatest joy rendered by my GT purchase, was totally unexpected. And that is the incredible friendships, countless good times, a wealth of information, and all the good fellowship that I've experienced with other GT owners. My enjoyment of the Ford GT has been multiplied several fold because of this forum. But as good as the car is, it soon became far less important to me than the fraternity of individuals that surround it.

Welcome to the Ford GT Forum Rocky, I'm certain you'll enjoy it here. All the best.

I'll defend the Mac. I thinks it's great. Sounds great, maybe the look isn't so fabulous, but my eyes are on the road. You need an i-pod cable. Windshield skin, front bra from Speedlingerie. The search button can be your best friend.

If you were EP I can understand the statement, but if you are really driving the car, how can you tell?

Thanks for all of the input! With everyones help, I have compiled a very extensive list of options and more questions.
My biggest problem is the color choices.
Thnaks again,

I agree that the Mac sounds great. The one time I listened to it anyway. I am so in love with the exhaust note that the radio seems a waste. Especially after the install of the FRPP no cat system. Can't get enough!

Currently, we (because the wife has a vote in the everyday car color) the internal voting is as follows;
Beast
1. White w/Blue
2. Red w/White
EDC
1. Black
2. Blue or Tungsten
Maybe I should do a poll?
Stay tuned for tomorrow nights post after my visit to Hennessy. Pic and vids if I am allowed.
