I thought we were all caught in the same photo enforcement. Unless mistaken the flash went a few times. Luckily yours was dismissed.

Mine? Well I probably live to far away for it to be worth their time.

Colton74....any way I can obtain a copy of the trip itinerary?....I would like to make the tour this winter with my gt as well. I just returned from Phoenix on Monday but will be heading back in a bit and will likely take the car down for the winter. Sounds like a "most excellant adventure". Thanks in advance !

Rich (GT Tech) published a nice brochure for the "Getway." Try PM'ing him for an copy - he may have an extra or 2.

I will look for it and send it off to you. Rich will have a copy of it as well. You will have a great time if you go; plan to spend some time in Oatman its certainly unique!

I am not sure if there is a run planned this spring or not. If so it would be worth your time to join in!

I am working on GT Get Away Weekend II. Likely in the spring but no definite time frame yet. I will post as things develop. I'm trying to find out when they are filming "Girls Gone Crazy" at spring break on Lake Havasu. (just kidding ladies) Things will be on hold for a time tho.

Sadly, I lost my father on Sat the 15th, and had to rush back to Michigan. We buried him today, in a full military service. Even amid all the sorrow and tears, seeing the Patriot Guard Riders lining the route, the VFW firing a 21 gun salute, and the folding of the flag, there was pride in every heart and soul there. What hit me the most was when the Air Force Master Sargent, a big guy that looked like he could rip a phone book in half, presented the folded flag to my 90 year old mother, there was a tear in his eye. There were more than a few in mine too. RIP U.S. Air Force SSGT Francis J Roback 1929 - 2012.

I was just here a month ago, for a big family reunion, and fortunately, got to spend a lot of time with my dad. I noticed that the Heritage GT model I had given him was proudly displayed on his dresser, with not a speck of dust on it.

Had to drive out here, and I can state for sure that my Fusion "GT", will do at least 115. Only my wife's menacing look prevented me from trying to bury the needle at 120. ( but she will ride around the track in a GT, with Mark Magowan at the wheel, and smile like crazy all the way. Whats that all about?)

Rich,

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Your dad is an American Hero! We thank you for him and his service to our country.

I think if you want to make sure they are never forgotten how about supporting this:

I make a donation and have gone to the local laying ceremony at Fort Logan near Denver.

My condolences Rich. You can get a free bronze plaque for the gravestone from the government. I did it for my father and uncles.

My heartfelt thanks to all my friends here. It's been a tough couple of weeks. My mom is actually handling things better than the rest of us. I guess after almost 91 years, not much rattles her.

So sorry to hear about your dad Rich, but at least it sounds like he had a full life. Your last GT Getaway was one of the most enjoyable GT events I've been to, and I am looking forward to the next one...wherever I happen to be. :wink If you'd like any help with ideas or planning the next one, let me know.

God Bless. :usa

Another sad day in Kingman.
Frank Stringer, GT owner and all around great guy, was killed in a dune buggy accident last night. Those who came to the GT Getaway weekend will remember Frank and his girlfriend Shelly. We made a pit stop at his place, and everyone who saw all his yard art loved it. His collection of Mustangs was top notch. He was very active in the local car scene, and looked forward to our next GT weekend. We even talked about having a B-B-Q at his place for the next one.

He will be deeply missed.

He made a great first impression and fit right into the "GT family". A really fun and upbeat guy. Terrible news. :frown

We all will be meeting up with God sooner or later but its never easy on the ones left behind. You come to Michigan for anything and we must get together for at least a meal or two.

Rich -

My deepest condolences to Shelly and any other relatives and friends of Frank's. Although he was new to us, he fit right in, and I was looking forward to seeing him at the next "Getaway." He had an amazing amount of collectibles at his place, and I'll miss his happy positive attitude and smiles. When you see Shelly, please give her a hug from me.

Ralphie
