...what is the significance of Fox News?
:confused Why would there need to BE any significance? 'Just happens 'twas they who posted the vid on their 'site.
Had I seen it on MSNBC's site (not very likely), I'd have provided a link to that. :cool

Like it or not, PP has the Guinness record for the mile. Until someone passes the 283 and pays Guinness to certify it, the record will stand. Too much is made of PP can't be going that fast because it only has XXX HP and the speed is unbelievable. Dyno HP doesn't mean sh*t, and the speed is more believable now in light of Mark's magnificent run.
I generally agree with most of your posts.
This time we'll agree to disagree.
PerfPower's run is no more believable now than before. Period.
And I'm more skeptical now of anything Guinness certifies than ever.
I do agree it would be fun to see the three cars run at the same event.
Congratulations again to Mark for his hard work, transparency and honesty!
If you ask most laymen about a world record they will cite Guinness.
I don't know anyone that cites or cares about Guinness World Records. It's a relic that will be gone soon, and is irrelevant already. People that want to know who has the curliest fingernails or who stacked the most pumpkins in a field on a Tuesday read it. Ask someone under 30 how much importance they put on GWR, if they even know what it is.
What's the world record in the 100 meter dash? What's the world record for heavyweight title defenses? Recognized sanctioning bodies for specific disciplines such as the Texas Mile have credibility, not a catalog of oddities.
Street Legal or what? I'm not going to go there...... This GT is FAST. I've seen Patrick sitting on the line to run the mile with everyone around the car Sweating like HELL and he has the Air Conditioner on and is casually waiting his turn to run. His calmness is amazing also as he casually shifts through the gears and guides this ROCKET to 278.2 MPH down a one mile strip. Damn Brother, Marks got a rocket and noone knows what it can do on a one mile perfect runway with plenty of room to stop in Houston. Ellington is a perfect place to test
his GT. Others should come on down and run their stuff. I'll be there.
Ill be there too I got to see this thing for my self!
I would love to see Mark's, Ray's and Johnny's cars run at any mile event organized by a non-biased organization. Add to the list those TT Lambos too.
Maybe they are worried that the Lambo's engine wouldn't make it that far. :lolIf I remember correctly, PPR did not want to run in Texas because Hennessey had an affiliation with both the car and the event. Since that is no longer the case, there should be no more excuses. As for the Gallardos competing in the full mile, I would not count on it.
your usual accomadations Mr bond?
