Might be related to the traction control system assuming Motec or something is cutting the power out.

The popping you are hearing is the car being on traction control and the cutting of cylinders and then firing back up. The track is very difficult to manage and putting down that much power can be difficult. I believe when the mile is run at the Ellington location in Houston where we have run a difference of 12mph at the half will prove big dividends on how the car goes down the track. We still have a few tricks up our sleeve at M2K Motorsports and thanks to Kevin Kesterson for a great build, John Mihovetz for all the power and no doubt with Shane T behind the keyboard doing the tuning it seems to make a perfect team. The videos will be done tonight and will post up once ready.

That is incredible! I don't even want to speculate on what the mile speed is based on that difference. Wow.

When is the Houston mile event?

Congratulations again to you and your whole team Mark. Awesome accomplishment.

The US Mile at Ellington in Houston will be held in April and is being done by the same folks running the Texas Mile Jay and Shannon Matus. We have some changes in store for the car for this event and if everything works like we plan who knows what this car might run.... Stay tuned for updates...

Is the car ok? One of my friends that went said the motor was hurt on the last pass.

Wow, how rumors start. The car is fine except for some minor cosmetic damage to items like the rear brake light on the hatch that decided to break all the studs off in the wind and the rubber seals around the window that had blown out. The motor is fine but all weekend we had been fighting an oil catch can issue that when the turbos spool up and the valve covers fill up with oil, that the excess oil goes back to the catch cans we had designed and obviously we have not designed large enough catch cans because under deceleration it blows the oil out of the breathers we have installed on the cans. We will get that fixed for the next event and be back ready to go.

Thanks guys. Here is the video of parts of the run. Had the folks at Gearhead Flicks put something together for all to see. Apologize up front for some of the language but we were really excited to say the least.

Thanks,

Still reading about PerfPower.

That's a shame.

Like it or not, PP has the Guinness record for the mile. Until someone passes the 283 and pays Guinness to certify it, the record will stand. Too much is made of PP can't be going that fast because it only has XXX HP and the speed is unbelievable. Dyno HP doesn't mean sh*t, and the speed is more believable now in light of Mark's magnificent run.

I would love to see Mark's, Ray's and Johnny's cars run at any mile event organized by a non-biased organization. Add to the list those TT Lambos too.

What is the significance of Guinness, besides, of course, making a wonderful stout? Also, what is the significance of Fox News?

We have run our number in front of a large public crowd and posted videos and timing board showing everything. This other so called run is exactly what we all think it is and that's BOGUS!!!! As far as the HP/Dyno numbers, I know what it takes and what the other side claims to have they would be lucky to run 230 mph if the car could make it down the mile. Over here at M2K we would like nothing more than to run the folks from FL but it will never happen because they know they can't produce said speed. We continue to run what we say and will continue to do so at public events not run or sanctioned by ourselves. The next event will be the Texas Mile in a March or the US Mile in April and we will be ready.

Thanks
