We called the #116 car the "Fred Car". That's the one Fred Goodnow wiped out in Ohio with a Mike Vanderlinder in it. Rich and Dennis spent a long time and mega $ putting it back together.

I guess if these repairs were done outside of Ford, it might have a savage title.

Have no idea how many GT's Ford still retains. But I met with an exec of Ford Racing this past week-end at the race in Michigan. He was driving a 06 Heritage vin 0002. They assured me it is not for sale----"at least not as of today".

$181k was not "hammer price". That's with their auction % calc'd in.

I was out of my seat and would've bought the thing if I had a paddle. But my wife was happy I didn't. And at the end of the day - I'm stoked since I finally picked up a Black, no stripe I've been day dreaming about since last Oct in Vegas.

GT Joey - I finally bought one last week. I've been lurking and looking for months. The price was right for me on this one. Was owned by a member in Houston from what I understand and sold through BJ Motors.

Can't wait to see it come off the truck in AZ! But it may have to make a pit stop somewhere along the way to get "murdered out" (new phrase I learned last week).
