Yes, but you have to remember Alcantara can be used for many things. Automotive interiors, clothes, furniture. They sponsor Camilo's designer's night party and he's made clothes and screen prints using it. Lots of possibilities to get stuff on it.

What was the deciding factor for you between the Dark Energy base and upgrade interior? I know you have a custom color so you needed a black interior.

I think the leather looks great, but I think the Alcantara looks the most racy, and as Stuntman pointed out, the race cars themselves have an Alcantara dash. I've liked the look in previous cars I've had from Lamborghini and McLaren.

And honestly? The fact that the carbon sill caps are that...caps. If the circumstances were such that the actual carbon sills were the structural tub of the car, I would have been more moved to order them, but that's just not how the car is constructed. I think the carbon looks nice, and I would certainly have gotten it if I could retain the Alcantara seats and dash, but that was not possible. If you want the extra carbon, it's coming with a leather seat and dash.

You may follow StormCat's lead and buy golf gloves to use for driving and protecting the surface.

I had a 72 Ferrari Daytona with a "Alcatara like " dash! Back then it was called " mouse hair"! Very nice and newer material of alcatara better longevity!

Good information about the top sill construction. Thanks. I'm going to ask Ford if you can be my concierge. Happily, it looks like the least expensive interior is the one I would like.

Dr Frank has a mankini made of alcantara if that helps anyone decide.

I'm more suspicious why you have such sweaty palms?

:lol

If you have that problem you couldn't get into the original McLaren 12C's. The door sensor just wouldn't work! Funny thing is the more annoyed people got, the hotter and sweatier they got so even less chance of making the thing work

I'd imagine it's a lot easier to slide over a carbon sill and into the seat than a grippy alcantara sill. It sucks that every option is a compromise.

I think you'll have to be more careful. The carbon sill with paint protection film on it will be more forgiving to dirty shoes. Either way, you have to be careful. I've looked at the carbon sills in some of the pre-production cars and they are *rough* after being treated mercilessly by the engineering guys.

leather on the sill would be the best one would think.
