The origins and program detail around the original Ford GT from that thread is really entertaining. I had the rare privilege of meeting and working with the Deuce in the early 80's. That which he shared criss-crosses some of that dialogue, but never estimate a man's passion, over tales of spending into bankruptcy.
One thing for certain, the latter part of the 2016 LeMans race (the last hour) clearly demonstrated to me that there is yet even more in our car to be had. That said, I was, and am, delighted with our current selection of drivers and I think the burden of proof is on Ferrari in 2017, not Ford.

Very nice 
My strange encountering on the 13 hours journey back (lots of rain all the time) was being passed by a new Audi R8 in white with Safety Car lettering on it. After passing he greeted with the hazard lights and accelerated again to get home to Ingolstadt. Unfortunately we were so baffled that we did not make a photo ... No other real interesting cars during our journey.

Knowing now that he has applied, I'd be surprised if he didn't get chosen. His social media following is HUGE and he drives his cars all over Europe. Don't think he's owned an 05-06, but other than that, he's just the type of owner Ford is looking for.
