Dave,
I was told that off-site parking is very limited.
Thanks,
Trisch
Here is what I heard from DBK...
Here is what I just found out…..
Here's the parking situation. Unfortunately this hotel seems to be just as inconsistent in the communication department when it comes to parking as the Ritz was. I spoke face to face with the group sales manager, her assistant and the valet captain. They said they were fine with everyone parking the cars themselves, and the head valet indicated he was glad they wanted to out of skepticism in letting his crew take hold of $16 million worth of cars. I told them some people had asked the hotel and received inconsistent answers. They were adamant it was just because the head valet hadn't disseminated the information between all the valets that run the various shifts. This was 2 weeks ago. The 5 nights I stayed there, they let me park the Lamborghini myself, keep the keys, and come and go as I please. Beyond the dozen or so cars they can fit up front, they have a multi-level parking structure and said if we wanted, we could have the lower floor blocked off. I think that it might be nice to take the top floor though, because even though it's not covered, you can see it from much of the hotel, and can see it from the rooftop pool/bar, etc. Steve Ard has a local friend who is a helicopter pilot and I thought that might make a neat shot if we could get someone up there.
Anyways, it will be fine, valets just tend to be the most panicked of all people!
If you Google map 4500 MacArthur Blvd, Newport Beach, CA 92660, the hotel is directly to the right of the marker where the road forks. You can see the pool and hot tub, the structure attached to the side is the parking structure.
