I'm looking at a low mile 4 option red car. It only has around 100 miles, supreme condition. I couldnt find a flaw on it,. Asking $167K firm. Sound reasonable?

I also saw a red no stripe, 1k miles MSO title, mac delete, $160K. I'm not sure whether to add or subtract value for the mac delete and no stripe, its definitely rarer. I'd think this would give me some bartering room on the 4 option car.

Either way, I want to drive the machine, I'd hate to defile the 100 mile car, maybe should look for 2-5K car. Or should I just go for it and enjoy knowing I've put nearly every mile on her.

Thoughts? Thanks!

I've been looking for a low mileage GT for a few months now. I see most are asking in the 165+ k range, but NOTHING is selling at all and these cars are being re-listed continuously, which makes me believe that the 165+ asking is far too high in today's market. Not only that, but there aren't even any bids on them. That car may only have 100 miles on it, but I'd bet it'll sit there at that asking for a very long time. I'd think more towards the 150-153k mark is more reasonable. It doesn't seem to be a seller's market right now, despite the fact that there aren't a ton of low mileage GT's for sale. I'm 100% sure I'll get one of these for much less than the 165k asking - and fairly soon. Today's market doesn't dictate the excessive asking out there. I have had every single GT on E-bay on my watch list for the past few months, and only one or two have sold...at much lower pricing too. I think the stripe/mac delete is worth much less...it maybe more rare, but also less desirable too. Just my .02

I think most Ebay listings get sold outside of the auction itself.

I think if showed up to dealer and let them know you were serious with check or wire funds; they would knock of 7-10% off price; that is within bargaining range of any big-ticket product. The internet is still filled with wack-jobs that waste these guys time, so they discount online.

I remember when I sold my '85 635CSI, i listed it at $4500 (book value) on auto trader; zero response; one joker asked if he could have it for free. Then I decided to boost it to $6,000 (some $4500 bidderes even called me out, saying thats not allowed); got 20 email bids; and I sold it for $6500. Online, buyers assume lower prices are lower quality!

FBA, I'll bet you will find one near your price range if you are patient. I think you are wrong on the mac/stripe delete red. I have a red top stripe delete which I sought out. Some people, like me, prefer the stripe delete. When I was looking the dealer I used had one with stripes and one without. At that time they were about the same price. They are beautiful either way.

Well I pulled the trigger on an Arizona car that popped up last night. I called them today and threw out a bid, and they accepted. I was kind of surprised, I thought there would be a counter offer, but they bit. Should have offered lower :biggrin Car is to be inspected by Rich (GT Tech) early next week, hopefully it all checks out.

Thanks for all the help guys, I look forward to being an owner in this community. Also, for anyone interested there is a nice no stripe GT that just popped up last night on ebay as well. They are negotiable on the price, and it comes with a Camilo Heritage print which looks awesome. Does anyone know where to get one of those? I tried without success.

Red 4 option, 900 miles. BONE STOCK! I dont plan on putting much on it, maybe a bumper delete, definitely a pulley and tune with catback (probably heffner, maybe the Borla). I havent heard anything other than stock in person, so when I meet some other GT guys and hear that music in person, I'll make a decision from there. I cannot wait. :biggrin

I looked at the pictures for this car closely. It looks like the Camilo print came directly from Ford. Did Ford do this as a consolation for repairing the early cars? The VIN seems to indicate that this particular car was a pretty early build. Might it have been one of the few that was actually delivered to a customer before the TSB was issued? Did any of you other early owners get a Camilo print from Ford?

Haha, compared to my first mustang it seems like nothing but I guess it is a few things. On the mustang I put shocks and springs, limited slip rear with 3.73's, CAI, wheels, etc. Did most of it myself. Thats when I became a Ford guy for life.

Thanks for the congrats guys. Hopefully it all checks out, I'm sure it will. I'll get some pics up when she gets in.

On a side note, did yall just add the GT to your existing insurance policy, or did any of you go through an exotic or classic car insurer like Hagerty. I read online someone saved 50% by going with one of those vs statefarm, which is who I have. I'll be curious to see the numbers, hoping its not too bad.

Congrats on your purchase. I spoke with my state farm agent and was pleasantly surprised by the premium (900) per year. I'm 46 with a good driving record at least for now.

I'm glad you found one that worked out. Pretty exciting stuff, still remember the awe when mine first showed up. Hope it checks out and you are in the fold soon. My State Farm deal worked out well for me too. $900/year, no tickets, old driver (54).
Make sure all the guages are working, which I'm sure you're PPI will cover.

Does anyone know if State Farm is "stated value" for GT coverage?

When i moved to statefarm my GT premium was about 1/3 of what haggerty was charging me ...im under 30, single so maybe haggerty had different pricing for that.

Thats good news, I'm 28 and Hagerty quoted me $4500/yr with $5k deductibles. It was more than I expected, hopefully statefarm will come through for me as well.
