Man, I love that picture of Waldo's car. Quicksilver is very underrated to me.

The thing about all the GT colors is that they have very, very different personalities. All of them are good. I will never find a circumstance in which I like a maroon Gallardo. I could definitely see a setting in which every GT color makes you say "Man, I wish I had one of those too."

I actually think Silver / Tungsten is going to be the most iconic GT color.

The production GT show car was silver.

It has a very industrial, mechanical, aeronautical, air-frame look to it; in sun/dusk its great (see above pics).

Color in order of CARS RETAIL VALUE:
1. HERITAGE
2. BLACK- NO STRIPE
3. BLACK w/ STRIPES
4. MIDNIGHT BLUE
5. TUNGSTEN
6. QUICK SILVER
7. YELLOW
8. WHITE
9. RED

this is the breakdown I was hoping for. It corresponds to what I am seeing in asking prices. My favorites are 4,5 and 6 but I like all of the them but two particular combos. Luckily, I do like red so that may be my best bet.

Now I just need to put a finger on what is the associated value and Pick a car that appeals the most. Sales tax up here is $15,000 so the difference between a red car and a blue car pays the Governor her share. :ack

Props from the Man!

It has a very... aeronautical, air-frame look to it...

That's probably why I really love the color.

... I want to buy your other ride as well!!!

Chip,
The picture you posted is of a VMA-231 "Ace of Spades" jet. Those boys did some great work during the recent battle for Marjah.

Best Regards,
Waldo

Since I'm late to this dance, I'll just chime in with my $.02 worth (BTW Chip, that "faggoty ass yellow" quote was priceless!).
I agree with the comments about getting what you like, but if there was one thing about the GT that I would really emphasize in acquiring one, it would be a stripe free car in ANY of the colors, and especially with the side stripes removed. As Shelby has told me on more than a few occasions, and as actually happened to me once I removed them from my car, PEOPLE DON"T KNOW WHAT IT IS!
The thing about the GT is, when you see it in the flesh, in any of the colors, your immediate reaction is "damn, that looks really great," and that's after you already have one.
I bought the blue NS because I really wanted blue, and a friend already had a black NS. However, after seeing a red NS, a silver, tungsten, yellow, white, I could have bought any one of them and been happy with it.
I think the stripe free cars are cleaner, and that's just my personal preference. But saying that, I'd have no problem owning just about any GT in any color combo.

GOOD MAN! Your "Blue" choice would, OF COURSE, be the BEST choice of the three! :biggrin

Oh yeah, And I am self employed, own a small business with a few employees and fall into the target demographic that the Gargoyle and her minions choose to punish for working hard and employing people.

But I am guessing you already know all that. :usa

Sorry, but you are wrong on this Chris. Coming from someone that does this day in and day out and have sold many of every color GT available, White brings more than Red. PERIOD. I have hard facts. I dont have problems selling a red car, so please do not misread my statement, but White will definatly bring more than a Red GT. Red is and has always been the cheapest selling GT due to the production numbers. Will it change over time? Who knows..., but I can tell you from hard facts that this list below is pretty accurate.
Color in order of CARS RETAIL VALUE:
1. HERITAGE
2. BLACK- NO STRIPE
3. BLACK w/ STRIPES
4. MIDNIGHT BLUE
5. TUNGSTEN
6. QUICK SILVER
7. YELLOW
8. WHITE
9. RED

Now, everyone can argue all they like. Simple fact is, the numbers above are based on near 300 Ford GTs that I have sold, not including hundreds more that I have followed the sale of very closely. This is my day Job and I follow it more closely than anyone I know. Now, I personally like the Ford GT in every color it was produced in and I think Ford did a GREAT job in picking colors. Obviously Red is popular, but this statement is in regards to value. The list above is as close as its gonna get for now.
All you guys with Red cars...... We still love ya! :thumbsup

I agree to disagree.:cheers

More valuation questions

Anyone want to venture how much a Carroll Shelby Signature on the dash is worth?

Personally I don't like or want one and would want it removed. Does it make it more valuable? I am guessing to the one in a hundred Shelby fan who is also buying a GT.

I don't dislike Shelby, I just don't see him being involved in the design or production of this car. I would not mind a discreet signature on a GT500.

Also, Do the billet control arms done under recall add value? Aren't those available from other aftermarket vendors?

Signature costs $200 and the original owner gets the tax write-off. My driver's side sun visor is signed. I have many signatures on my car from Rally I in Detroit (not as many as GTJoey though), but my car was signed by Edsel himself.

I would value a (discreet) signature from Edsel more than Carroll. But that is just me.
